That was a great podcast by Meacham and Williams. No offense to any member on this forum, but it was refreshing to hear from someone with an objective perspective on the team and its struggles.

Based on the CFP rankings Tuesday evening, I think UC’s chances to make the playoff have vanished. Not that they were likely to make it if properly ranked at no less than 6, IMO. The P5 bias is obvious and the CFP has clearly indicated that it will never allow a G5 school into its invitational.

Vogt was hurt more by the departure of Sorolla than any other person on last year’s roster. It was not a coincidence that his regression began when Sorolla left. If Sorolla had stayed, Vogt’s numbers would not have fallen of as far as they did.

UC also defeated Tulsa by 31 and SMU by 22. Early in the conference but very solid wins. They should play every team home and away each year.

I think if Tulsa wins they are the #1 seed as they will win the regular season conference title outright. The only chance UC has of becoming the #1 seed is in a tie with Tulsa, over whom it holds the tiebreaker.

I still say Vogt was harmed the most by Sorolla leaving the team. He gave Vogt a body to bang against in practice that he no longer had after Sorolla left. He had to play more minutes after Sorolla left. He had to be careful not to foul after Sorolla left. All of these were factors in his...
