SMH. He gone. Smart decision on his part, IMO. Don't know if it is confirmed Northwestern but that's the rumor. Good move for him. #fireTuberville

Seems like NW's education opportunities was a big factor. You can go to his twitter go see what he said.

His former teammate jordan Thompson from lasalle was a freshman at NW this year, I know they were good friends maybe he was still recruiting Jeremy to play with him again... But also 3 star lineman o'sullivan flipped commitment from to Syracuse today too so not sure what's going on

Everyone knows that Tubbs is on the hot seat. Prolonged firings hurt the program. Look at the way the Huggs firing went down. Really the Huggs firing went on for about two years. By that time he was a lame duck coach who did not and could not recruit any talent. By the time we fired him, like everyone knew was going to happen, the cupboard was bare. It took years for our program to recover and it is a miracle that it turned round as fast as it did.

Good point. Do you think Bohn is closely monitoring TT and what he is bringing and losing to UC? Or do you think Bohn doesn't really care and rolling with Tubbs? I've never really heard Bohn speak so I can't make any speculations.

Who is out there to coach this team in the right direction and will stay? Combs??

I think our program should focus more on who will coach this team in the right direction and less on who will stay. I don't have a problem getting coaches like Kelly. Not only do you get a chance to win big but you also can earn money from their buyout clauses. Until UC is in a major conference we will not get a big time winner that will want to stay. Even then big time coaches at big time programs leave for "better" jobs.

Yes I agree. Young "stepping stone" coaches have risen this conference to new heights. ECU just hired a 37 year old O Coordinator from Duke and Memphis replaced Fuente with a 34 year old O Coordinator from ASU. Until we are P5, I want a coach who is motivated to keep moving up the ranks. If a guy does leave, that just means he did a good job. If we fired Tuberville today, I doubt he'd get even get a G5 offer.

MORE TUBBY?

Tommy Tuberville believes his work is not nearly done, and the University of Cincinnati football coach hopes a contract extension is in his near future.

Tuberville has a 25-13 record at UC as he finishes the third year of a five-year contract, making an average of $2.2 million per year.
