Bearcats offered JuCo guard Jayden Scrubb about an hour ago. Averaged 19.5 PPG and 8 rebounds while shooting 55% from the field, 46% from 3 and 80% from the free throw line. Going to watch some highlights now. Weird part is I've seen him listed anywhere from a 6'3" SG to a 6'7" SF.

He is the #1 JuCo freshman in the country so this may need moved to 2020. Sorry MODS

Okay watched a couple game films and here is what I saw:

Literally no defensive highlights, really good smooth left handed jumpshot with really good arch and extension. He seems to be at least a pretty good athlete with a pretty fast 1st step off the dribble. Showed ability come off screens and hit jumpers from the mid range and 3 point distance. Probably most comfortable slashing and attacking the rim and always looks to dunk. BUT he is a very very very good jump shooter.

Where are you ever seeing defensive highlights from a guard on YouTube?

According to 247, his best offer out of high school was Western Kentucky.

I think he's a legit 6'5/6'6 now. With his athleticism and ability to create his own shot, he looks to be a different caliber of player than Rashawn Fredericks coming out of JUCO.

He was the only freshman to earn 1st Team All-American D1 JUCO honors last season. For reference, the only freshman to earn the same honors for 17-18, LJ Figueroa, went on to have a big year at St. John's last season (15 ppg, 6 rpg, and shot just under 40% from 3).

What determines whether a JUCO player can leave after his freshman year or not? Is it strictly related to academics?

Not sure but everything ive seen says he is a 2020 recruit. Mods need to move this to 2020 section

PG from his team, David Sloan is #26. Fredericks was #38 last year for reference..

Didn't realize Fredericks was #38. I would think if we go Juco we need to focus on the top 15 or so. Juco is not like it used to be. Fredericks was not ready by any means.

There are grad transfers out there that can help us right away for one year...then we can focus back on HS recruits. Why take up two years of scholly on a crap shoot? Even grad transfers from a lower school could end up potentially being role players.

For the record I don't think Sloan looks all that impressive but we do need another PG so we should take what we can get. He should be the backup plan from what I can see. LoJo has SOOO much more potential! I am so excited to see what he can do. I hope we get the chance. If LoJo can knock down 30% from 3...he is our man for the future IMO...he brings so much more to the table everywhere else.

Agreed generally, although I think Sloan would be a solid backup PG. Lead nation in assists last 2 years. Shoots decently too albeit against JC comp.
