This game is huge. One step forward, or do we take another step back. Winning every other game is great if the ambition is to be .500.

Some consider it not a must win, I'm not in that group. UC has to win this one because I can't see them beating those three you mentioned. Got to get these ones IMO.

I dont really like the term "must-win" either...but I feel it kind of is, not for the NCAA hopes, but because we are better then this team. We SHOULD win and I am sick of losing to teams we are better then. UC still has a very good shot at the tournament but we need to beat the teams we are better then...aka South Florida.

You dont like the term "must-win" and yet thats how you describe this game. That would be called a contradiction my man. Good call.

Obviously this is not a "must win" bc they still have plenty of chances to win games. I do think from a confidence standpoint they do need to win this game. This team has been toying with us all year. Some games they look like the could be a 7-8 seed in the tourney and others they look like they belong in the MAC conference.

This is a young team and they need to get on some sort of a roll to end the season. I think this team is gaining confidence with each win but still needs to be more consistent in order to make the tourney. If they can win @ USF this team WILL make the tourney. Write that one down!

TAMPA -After three-straight games on the road, the Bulls return to the Sun Dome looking to extend their three-game home win streak with back-to-back games against Cincinnati (Feb. 16) and St. John’s (Feb. 20).

On Tuesday, USF looks to avenge its eight-point loss at Cincinnati on Jan. 20, a game in which Dominique Jones led the Bulls with 21 points and four assists while Chris Howard recorded a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Jarrid Famous chipped in 14 points and seven rebounds and Mike Mercer contributed 10 points. Cincinnati had three players in double-digit scoring, led by Deonta Vaughn (20), along with Rashad Bishop and Jaquon Parker each adding 15. PLAYER TO WATCH
Senior guard Chris Howard had a career night at Notre Dame on Feb. 7, scoring 23 points, which topped his previous career high of 19, which he scored at Syracuse on Jan. 5, 2008. The team’s point guard, Howard has only turned the ball over six times in the past seven games. In that time, Howard has averaged 13.6 points, 3.0 assists and 5.3 rebounds. He has scored double-digits in six of those seven outings.

Parker hasn't been seen lately. Wonder if Mick will get him out there because of a match-up he likes, or if he continues using a short bench of 8 main players.

So, Gilchrist is healthy?

Jones and Gilchrist make a nice 1-2 punch for USF. Gilchrist did not play in the first matchup.

Edit: Gilchrist is healthy. 6'10" 235lbs C/F. He is averaging 17pts and 7 rebs. His first back in nearly two months was against Marquette. He played 23 minutes and went for 7 and 4. Yancy, Thomas and Toyloy better bring their A game. Kid can play.

Not too much chatter about the game on good ole' boring BearcatTalk.

Anyways, UC is a 2.5 point underdog (according to Bodoglife.com).

If we stop Jones and Gilchrist, we have a chance. Keep Jones below 20 and keep Gilchrist below 12, and this game is ours.

So, does Bishop guard Jones? Can Bishop match Jones' quickness?

Will we see more zone defense tonight (ala at Uconn) because USF does not shoot the ball well?

My keys to victory:

1) Less than 12 turnovers.

2) Outrebound USF by 10+.

3) Yancy, DV and Lance all play 26-30 minutes, if not more.

UC 66
USF 63
