Should be a fun game to watch. Looking forward to seeing the team's new look.
Coach Buzz Williams stepped into a great situation with a great group of players who were destined to make a run in the Big East and make the NCAA Tournament. Now it is time to rebuild and find out what Coach Williams and Marquette are really made of. The Golden Eagles have had to rebuild before, but this will be a monumental task.
Key Losses: F Dwight Burke, G Dominic James, G Wesley Matthews, G Jerel McNeal
Key Newcomers:
A very talented group of newcomers will help. Junior college transfers Dwight Buycks and Darius Johnson-Odom have some much needed collegiate experience and could both be starting from day one. Point guard Junior Cadougan is a top ten point guard in this class according to most recruiting pundits and forwards Jeronne Maymon and Erik Williams may end up being the best of the bunch when all is said and done. This group will also give the team some much needed size with the addition of 7-2 center Youssoupha Mbao.

I have seen Marquette play quite a bit so this is my personal scouting report. Marquette is small with very quick guards and forwards. They pass the ball very well and shoot it even better. If you allow the ball to get into the paint and help on defense, they will kick it outside and shoot you out of the gym. I would like to see the cats take there chances on the inside to contest shots with the bigger front line. Also have a good opportunity to rebound the miss. The other players must stay with the man they are guarding to prevent the open three. Marquette wins with the three. Stop this and UC wins this game.

I said this about ND, and they were able to get inside and still shoot some 3's. Mainly it comes down to playing off your man a little. A contested 3 is much better than your guy getting by you, necessitating help that will leave another opponent wide open.
