While Alabama hasn't landed any recruits from Orlando yet, the defending national champions are certainly making headway.

This past weekend, Dr. Phillips DB Ha'sean Clinton-Dix, Olympia WR Isiah Myers, and Apopka RB Tom Smith took a trip to three college campuses; Alabama, Florida and Georgia Tech. However, it seems that these prospects returned from their trip with a particular infatuation with the Crimson Tide.

Clinton-Dix, the No. 2 player in the Sentinel's 2011 Central Florida Super60 was returning a visit Saban had already taken earlier this year to Orlando. He stopped by the campuses of Dr. Phillips and Hagerty to speak with coaches since he could not speak with prospects at that time.

"They were all lovely," Clinton-Dix said. "Great places to be, great atmosphere, great environment, we enjoyed ourselves." That being said, Myers indicated that he and his Central Florida counterparts all felt the same way about Alabama. "I'm sure they said the same one; Alabama was pretty nice."

Of the three, Clinton-Dix is the only one who currently holds an Alabama offer, but according to Myers' father, Lo Wood Sr., both Myers and Smith are rising towards the top of Alabama's recruiting board.

The trio also saw a familiar face this past weekend when they met up with Dr. Phillips running back Demetrius Hart, who also visited Florida. However, Hart visited Auburn instead instead of Alabama this weekend. Hart will visit Alabama in two weeks.

"Alabama is standing at the top," Clinton-Dix told CrimsonConfidential.com Thursday afternoon. "I'm still wide open, but, as of right now, Alabama is No. 1."

Asked who his No. 2 is, Clinton-Dix said Notre Dame.

So what was it about the trip to Tuscaloosa that made it so impactful? For starters, there was a good in-office chat with Alabama head coach Nick Saban.

"He told me he wanted me to come be a part of the team and play safety for him," Clinton-Dix said. "He said I'm what he needs."

While some schools are recruiting him as a corner, the 6-foot-2, 200-pounder said there are probably a few more that are looking at him as a safety. He plays both in high school and said he feels he can play both in college, too.

"I'm aggressive, and I play with passion," he said.

One of the things that draws him to Alabama is the fact his high school runs the same style of defense Alabama runs. He said he picked up on that while watching film at Alabama over the weekend.

After reviewing his film, one of our scouts recently said Clinton-Dix was "one of the most impressive safeties he's seen" and he showed that during this event. He has size, but like other bigger safety prospects in recent years, like LSU signees Craig Loston (Class of 2009) and Chad Jones (Class of 2007), he's athletic/fast enough to play in coverage. Admittedly though, he's not quite as big as those two. Alabama is the early leader here and should he end up in Tuscaloosa, it would not surprise us at all to see him get a look at cornerback in certain situations

Per IUB at GH, rumors are flying that he might commit to Bama on april 17.
