One of the top defensive back prospects from south Florida is Nick North. North, 6-0.5 and 187 pounds, is a safety prospect from Hollywood, Florida. Last season for MacArthur High School he recorded 60 tackles and five interceptions.

Most of the time I played safety and corner,North said. I played a little outside linebacker and strong safety. Some schools like me at safety and while others like me at corner. I am a tall, rangy guy that can run. I play well in coverage and my teammates all say that I am a ball hawk.

Recently, North picked up his first two scholarship offers.

Western Kentucky and UCF offered me on the same day but WKU came in first. It was really exciting getting that first one. I never really knew if it would happen. They told me on the phone that they would offer and they did. That was cool.

According to North, Kansas State, Rutgers, Florida, FSU, Miami, Duke, Georgia Tech and others are all schools recruiting me hard that just havent offered yet.

My favorite team right now is USC. I grew up watching USC and I am from southern California. Thats really the team I like. I also like watching LSU. They play real physical ball.

Safety Nick North (Hollywood, Fla./McArthur) is a player that I felt had some upside when I saw him in February.

Now, it appears some college programs are starting to feel the same way as he has picked up multiple scholarship offers. TCU, Illinois, Memphis, Western Michigan and New Mexico all have offered the 6-foot-2, 200-pounder.

Currently, North is getting ready for next football season and also preparing to take part in the Badger Sport Elite 7-on-7 National Championships on July 4 weekend in Tuscaloosa, Ala., with his 7-on-7 team, the South Florida Express.
