Offered by Michigan, Mich St, Vandy, Stanford, Northwestern, and just recently ND.

Interest by UC, OSU.

Here's another kid that I can't figure out why UC hasn't offered.
I'm not too happy with how our offers our going thus far, if you can't tell.
Understanding it is still very early.

Was at ND junior day. Sounds like Michigan/ND lead thus far with MSU in the mix.

Impressions from the ND 3/20 Junior Day.

Michigan still has to be the favorite here but ND made up enough ground here that Beyer will return for a practice in the spring.

The recruiting battle for defensive end Brennen Beyer (Canton, Mich./Plymouth) is shaping up to be an epic one between traditional Midwest powers Michigan and Notre Dame.
The 6-foot-4, 220-pounder has an impressive list of scholarship offers, including Michigan, Notre Dame, Michigan State, UCLA, Northwestern, Syracuse, Louisville, Cincinnati, Vanderbilt and Texas Tech.

"I've been to multiple Michigan junior days," Beyer said. "I went to a Michigan State junior day, a Notre Dame junior day and a Northwestern junior day."

"I still like Michigan a lot," Beyer said. "But I'm really looking hard at Michigan and Notre Dame right now."

The Plymouth star was able to take a long look at the Irish during their junior day March 20 and was slated to return to South Bend for a spring practice Wednesday. His increased interaction with Notre Dame's new coaching staff has only served to improve the storied program's profile in his eyes.

"I got to talk to Coach (Bob) Diaco, their defensive coordinator and he explained to me where I belong in their defense as an outside linebacker," Beyer said. "I got to talk to Coach (Brian) Kelly. I also got to see the campus a lot and the campus is pretty nice. Coach Kelly has a pretty good record. It's attractive and so is what the whole school itself has to offer."

Notre Dame's ascension is proof positive an early lead can sometimes be a precarious one. That said, the Wolverines have made it a point to not rest on their laurels. They've had Beyer on campus for two junior days, a workout, and two spring practices so far. His most recent trip to Ann Arbor was for a scrimmage last Saturday.

owever, I don't think we should fill up on in-state kids. With Zettel and Beyer likely commits - plus Hollowell and Conway - offering and taking commitments from too many other in-state guys might limit the rest of our class. There are still guys like Showers, Beavers, Raymon Taylor, Hosley, Rawls, Hayes, etc. out there, too.

I'm not making an argument that we have to get out-of-state guys to be successful, just that the talent level in Michigan only goes so deep. With a small class and a [hopefully] good season coming up, I think we should be able to get some nationally renowned recruits.

We'll see, as it's very early (not that I don't necessarily disagree with it)
