ND is interested, and if James and Massa go there...could be where he ends up.

Interest from UCLA, tOSU, Florida, PSU, and Wisconsin. Also likes Oregon, SC, and Alabama.

Louisville has offered as well. In addition, Louisville has also offered his cousin...Poole.

Daniels made unofficial visits to Ohio State, Michigan, Cincinnati and West Virginia.

I think he likes Cincy, having grown up near the campus, but I'm not feeling the love. Much work to do!

Good player that I really like but not sure of where he will end up position wise. His physical abilities scream inside linebacker but doesn't have the height or the bulk that I would find ideal.

Real deal, total package of burst, motor & attitude, Daniels has the instincts to dominate. Great feet, thumper who gets downhill quickly with great angles in traffic. Cannot wait until 2010 with the defense built around #8 in the middle, Bombers will once again be in the mix with Daniels leading the charge on the defensive side of the ball. 1st Team All GCL South & 1st Team DI All-Southwest District in 2009

One of the most highly coveted juniors to this point on the recruiting trail has been St. Xavier’s Steve Daniels. The 6-foot, 225-pound linebacker showed up on the Rivals250 Early 2011 Watch List and has received many offers already, including ones from Boston College, Cincinnati, Indiana, Louisville, N.C. State and West Virginia.

“It’s been good. Not really too much happening yet,” Daniels said of his recruiting experience to this point. “I’m basically happy that I am doing these things. It is only by the grace of god I have the talents to do these things.”

He tallied 82 total tackles, 14 tackles for loss and seven sacks as a junior and is poised for a breakout senior campaign. Daniels knows that he still has room to grow throw. For now he’s taking all the advice in stride.

“A lot of coaches tell me to just keep what I am doing,” the senior-to-be stated. “Everybody I know just tells me to stay on the grades first of all.”

Nike Combine Overview from Columbus, OH

If there was a more physical player on the field than Steven Daniels (6-1/230) of Cincinnati, Ohio, I didn't see him. Daniels broke down and squared up on ball carriers well. He sometimes played to that "echo of the whistle" that some would call dirty and others would call tenacious depending on which color jersey he's wearing.

Quote:
Linebackers make their mark
Two prospects stood out among the linebackers, one from the Buckeye State and one who traveled north from Kentucky for the camp.

Steven Daniels (Cincinnati/St. Xavier) showed why he has more than a dozen scholarship offers. At 6-foot-1, 232 pounds, Daniels did not look much different from many of the other linebackers. That is, until the drill started. Daniels could not be blocked by a running back during one-on-one drills and found the ball in a hurry. He showed good closing speed and was very physical.

Michigan is a good team. No doubt. But at this point, if I'm a WR...I'm going to UC every day. Michigan is going to face better corners than UC will, think about it.

I couldn't agree more. On top of that, I never really remember Rich Rod having any notable WRs while at WVU. When I think back to his time there, I think QB and RB. Maybe I am forgetting someone. I don't know.

RR's system is run through his QB. Even moreso, because his QB tends to take off more than a UC QB will. Course, that depends on who is taking the snaps. However, UC seems to be more interested in the passing type QB than the more athletic/do it all type.

So far, likes KY due to SEC ties. Plans on making visits this summer, including Pitt. Will commit on NSD in Feb.

Brian Eldridge of KSR has an article about Steven Daniels (6' 225lb MLB)from St X in Cincy. Daniels is ranked the #14 MLB by Rivals and looks to be a real player. He has offers from BC, Ill, IND, UK, UL, Pitt, WVU and several others. Additionally (IIRC) the cousin of Antonio Poole (who the CATS are also recruiting), so the question remains, is there a package deal here?

The word on the street is that Steven is really high on UK!
