Hearing from lots of folks lately. Lots of contact from OSU, MSU, ND, Iowa, Northwestern.

Went to Wiscy recently. Plans on visiting ND and others.

UC has a long road to hoe.

Core 6 Athletes first-ever Winter Invitational Showcase on Martin Luther King Day next Monday, will feature many of the best football players in the Chicago area over the next two recruiting classes.

After a dominant performance at the U.S. Army National Combine, Dan Voltz takes his act to the Core 6 Winter Invitational Showcase.Inside the Mercy Indoor Soccer Center on the city’s West Loop, Future247 offensive tackle Dan Voltz (Barrington, Ill./Barrington), Future247 defensive tackle Vincent Valentine (Edwardsville, Ill./Edwardsville), Future247 offensive tackle Jordan Diamond (Chicago, Ill./Simeon) and the very highly recruited defensive end Faith Ekakitie (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest Academy) are signed up to be there.

247Sports will also be there.

The 6-foot-6, 290-pound Diamond and 6-foot-3, 285-pound Voltz are both fresh off a dominant performance against some of their national peers. At last Friday’s U.S. Army National Combine in San Antonio, Texas, both earned first-team all-combine honors according to 247Sports.

These are the recruits that some how some way this coaching staff has to start cashing in on. High level skill position players are starting to come to UC on a (semi) regular basis... now they need high level lineman to start selecting UC.

Future247 offensive guard Dan Voltz picked up his seventh offer on Thursday from Boston College.

The Eagles join Arizona, Cincinnati, Illinois, Iowa, Northwestern and Wisconsin in offering the standout junior from Barrington (Ill.) High.

The 6-foot-4, 285-pound Voltz had already been building a relationship with the Boston College staff.

“I like Boston College because they offer a great mix of top-notch academics and a strong football program,” Voltz said. “Also, all the coaches are great guys.”

Voltz currently reports no favorites and would like to make his college decision during the spring.

Hearing Northwestern is the team to beat. ND may be up there with an offer, but they would all be chasing NW at this point.

Friday was a day Barrington junior Dan Voltz won't forget anytime soon.

The 6-foot-5, 289-pound offensive tackle landed oral scholarship offers from Notre Dame, Auburn and Alabama on Friday, for a total of 19 scholarship offers this winter.

Voltz said the three latest offers are game-changers when it comes to his recruiting process.

"Getting offers from all three schools, including the national champions (Auburn), will have an impact for sure," Voltz said. "How do you not check out what all three schools have to offer? It just seems like it would be a big mistake for me to not see what a school like an Auburn or an Alabama or a Notre Dame has to offer. I need to see all three schools and to get a better feel for each program."

This kid brings a real physicallity to the offensive line. He is a hard worker and doesn't seem to take plays off. He has said he'll try and narrow his list to 5-6 schools in the near future.
