Darrick Wood (Nia Prep)- A long, lean athlete on the perimeter with a nice handle and fluid stroke from three, the six-foot-two wing has a terrific feel and can create his own shot with ease off the bounce in the form of a feathery mid-range jumper or smooth finish at the rim. Always under control, Wood (18 points, 7-12 shooting) is a poised and confident with the rock in hand and made several big-time shots in the second half on Sunday that broke Marianapolis’ back and propelled Nia to a convincing, come-from-behind victory.

Darrick Wood (Nia Prep)- A versatile, smooth-scoring wing at six-foot-four with an explosive first burst and deceptive bounce, Wood scored the ball in a variety of ways in Friday’s opening round match-up with NMH, knifing to the rim for a series of acrobatic scores in traffic and knocking down multiple perimeter jumpers with a pure stroke from three. Always under control, Wood (21 points) could greatly benefit from some added muscle to his long, but extremely thin, frame, but possesses natural instincts for changing pace in tight space and being able to create his own shot from several locations on the floor.

He's got an arsenal of offensive weapons at his disposal and unleashed a bunch of them opening night. Brimming with confidence, Wood has an air of Jeremy Lamb in terms of his body type and offensive abilities. His midrange game was tight and the next step is to go out and replicate his performance. Word on the street was that he's been hot out of the gate this month, so maybe the EYBL Hampton experience has him rolling.
