UC is recruiting the 6'7" 210 lbs. power forward originally from Marblehead, MA. Strong and athletic with a good motor and consequently productive two-way game, he’s the type of guy who thrives on physical tools right now and will only continue to increase his status with added skill. Originally a 2013 recruit.

2014 PF Abdul-Malik Abu tells @Evan_Flood247 he wants to visit #Cyclones, Rutgers, Wisconsin, Cincy & BC this summer

Has offers from Boston College, Cincinnati, Iowa State, Michigan State, Rhode Island, UMass, Providence, Rutgers and Temple. Kansas, Miami, West Virginia, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, UConn and Marquette are looking at him. great all around talent who needs only to become a more consistent outside shooter.

Another physically dominant power forward, Abu has emerged as one of the top players in New England and is one of the region's true breakout players of the summer.

He really showed off his explosive athleticism by catching several lob passes, finishing putback dunks, and standing out as one of the top rebounders at the event.

The rising junior claims offers programs such as Rutgers, Cincinnati, Rhode Island, Providence, Iowa State and Michigan State. Abu added that Seton Hall, Miami, and Connecticut are also very interested.

I absolutely love this kid's game. He's a double-double machine (Points & Rebounds) this summer with Expressions Elite. An interesting spotlight on his relationship with fellow 2014 recruit, Jared Terrell, is here: http://collegebasketballtalk.nbcspo...l-malik-abu-and-jared-terrell-a-package-deal/

The most engaging quote from the article: "'We don’t want to hold each other back, but I bet we end up together,' Abu, who picked up an offer from Michigan State, said. Terrell also has offers from Miami, St. John’s and UConn."

Abdul-Malik Abu (Expressions Elite 2014) – The best player in the 16U field throughout the week, Abu and his team came up short in the title game but he still managed to dominate inside. Post-ups, right hand drives, and loud finishes are staples of Abu’s offense which was unstoppable the entire tournament. It also has to be mentioned that Abu is fasting for religious reasons this month and cannot eat or drink ANYTHING throughout the day while playing multiple games. The fact that he’s even been playing is somewhat miraculous and to be the best 16U performer in the field just speaks to his incredible talent.

How many scholarships are we gonna have for '14?

Thinking of who graduates - Nyarsuk, JJ, S K, Rubles.......I think that's it.

4 schollies available for '14. Definitely need a big man with Nyarsuk and JJ graduating.

#ExpressionsElite Abdul Malik Abu finished with 31 pts 11 rbs, if you aren't recruiting him I want to know why, program changer.

Again.

Get me Terrell and Abu, and I don't care who else they sign (unless is another surprise). "Gamechanger"?????? That's all I need to hear. LOL. :D

And Terrell is supposed to be a lights out type of shooter.

UC needs that lights out shooter. It hasn't had one in years. SK can go on steeaks but to be a national championship team you need a guy that will kill you if you leave him open. It stretches the defense and keeps your opponent from doubling.

Where is Field Williams when you need him???:D

Was sanders supposed to be that guy?

I think Sanders can be that guy.

Yup. He has a nice stroke. Mick said on his post game comments that he needs to start having Sanders room with SK because Sanders is afraid his teammates will be mad if he shoots too much and SK could rub off on him. He said SK would be ok shooting 50 times per game if he could. I got a kick out of that comment and usually find Mick's post game comments refreshing and interesting.

I think Sanders' release is way too slow to be that guy. Plus from what I've seen so far (granted it's limited since he doesn't play much), he doesn't seem to be too good at shooting off the dribble. He looks to have a decent stroke when he is wide open but it's such a wind-up shot that it takes forever to get off.

Agree Sanders shot is way to slow and he isn't athletic enough or a good enough ball handler to create a shot. He does hit the open shot when left open but I would much rather have a guy like Terrell who can do it all.

So how many other schools are considering taking these two as a package? I see we are recruiting Terrell pretty hard, but what about Abu? From the video I have seen, I would love to have them both here.

I'm not sure if they are even friends with one another, they play for two completely different prep schools, and usually when players go to a team for a package deal its because they have played together for a couple of years or because they are friends. But one plays for Union kimball which is in west NH and one plays for Brewster which is in East NH, I've gone to quite a few brewster games in my life and they are a very impressive program.
