2014's Romeo Trimble and Chinanu Onuaku will make college coaches happy. Hard workers. Chris Mack, Mick Cronin and JT3 looking on.

Rutgers coach Mike Rice brought his entire family to see Romelo Trimble play. Georgetown, UNLV, Xavier, Cincinnati, Ohio St & more watched.

Ranked No. 57 nationally in the class of 2014, Romelo Trimble looked the part on Sunday. The solidly built 6-foot-3 shooting guard kept making plays during a 28-point outing and triple overtime win over the Louisville Magic in a 16 and under quarterfinal. A smart player who blends crafty drives with timely jump shooting, Trimble plays a winning brand of ball. He already holds offers from Rutgers, Miami, Xavier, Cincinnati, Virginia Tech and many others.

Per Trimble, during a recent DC Assault workout, he established the list of colleges having offered a scholarship as “Maryland, Rutgers, Villanova, Miami, UNLV, George Mason, Cincinnati and Notre Dame.” He later added a number of schools, like Georgetown have expressed interest, but to date have not offered.

There is no doubt regarding Trimble’s shooting prowess; in this writer’s estimation, he is the best all around shooter in the District-Maryland-Virginia area, being able to hit three-pointers as well as stop and pop mid-rangers, including tough runners. Trimble’s release is quick, and he has the strength to get off shots through contact. Given Melo’s young age, all of that should continue improving.

Per Alex Kline (@TheRecruitScoop) Trimble will make his college announcement on Thursday between Maryland, Rutgers, and Cincinnati

Will announce his decision tomorrow between Maryland, Rutgers and Cincinnati per Alex Kline.

This kind of came out of nowhere for me. I had no idea he had cut his list down to 3 after he had so many offers. He would be a massive pickup early in the 2014 class.

Just reading some articles around the internet I would guess he is headed to Maryland. However, anything can happen in recruiting and it doesn't hurt being the only ranked team he is considering.

Yeah I would guess he stays local and heads to Maryland. Would be a welcoming surprise though if he decided to be a Bearcat.

UC has had some luck with players in the Virginia area recently. This wouldn't be a huge upset if he chose UC. I honestly think Rutgers is the least likely of the three but hey, what the hell do I know?

No real shock here....

'14 guard Romelo Trimble of DC Assault is a strong addition for Maryland. More of a combo now, but ranked 13 among points in the 2014 class.
