Cincinnati has offered 2015 Team Final SG Malachi Richardson.

Other offers: James Madison, Miami (FL), Rutgers, Seton Hall

Richardson proved to be one of the top prospects in the sophomore class nationally as he effortlessly scored 21 points, including knocking down 4 of 7 3-point shots. A 6-foot-3 guard who can play multiple positions, Richardson has a good burst of speed in his first step, making it easy for him to get by defenders and into the second level of the help defense.

Both a shooter and a scorer, Richardson is efficient in putting the ball in the bucket from anywhere inside of 20 feet. The 2015 four-star can improve as a decision-maker, but is one of the most talented offensive players in the event, and has an excellent feel for how to create plays in the half-court. The New Jersey guard listed Cincinnati, Rutgers, Seton Hall and Indiana among programs that are aggressively pursuing him.

Ohio State has offered 2015 Roselle Catholic (NJ) SG Malachi Richardson.

Duke is the latest high-profile school to get involved with 2015 Roselle (N.J.) Catholic wing Malachi Richardson.

Duke assistant Chris Collins spoke Wednesday with RC head coach Dave Boff.

“They are very excited to start recruiting him and said that they recruit a select few kids that fit what they are looking for both on and off the court and they think he is that type of a person and player,” Boff, who also coaches Syracuse-bound forward Tyler Roberson, told SNY.tv.

“They are impressed with him on the court but also impressed with what he does academically at a school like Roselle Catholic that stresses academics.

“They believe Malachi is the type of player that can fit in with what they like to do. He shoots it great, is a great passer and very unselfish — all qualities that Coach Collins said are stressed at Duke.

“During my conversation with Coach Collins he also brought up [freshman] Asante Gist referencing Asante’s play at USA Basketball this aall, a camp which Malachi attended and also played very well at.

“With Coach K’s relationship with USA Basketball, it seemed to me that Coach Collins was impressed that we had players that had been recognized by that organization and had also performed well at the camp.”

The 6-foot-6 Richardson also holds offers from Ohio State, Indiana, Cincinnati, Rutgers, Seton Hall, Miami and James Madison, with interest from North Carolina, Syracuse and others.

2014 PF Abdul-Malik Abu is attending the Providence game, while 2015 SG Malachi Richardson is attending the Rutgers game tonight.

Class of 2015 four-star Malachi Richardson has worked his way into high end four-star status and the national top 25 in his class because of his shooting and size. When Richardson plays with an edge and attacks off the dribble, his ability to finish through contact gets him buckets in the lane and puts defenders on their heels. - See more at: http://recruitscoop.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1522995#sthash.F7qYuOX6.dpuf
