uc is still favored tomorrow (albeit only by 1 and bc of hca) but still, not a bad spot to be in. Huge game and would be going, but when i was gonna buy tix it was still at 9pm. obv theyve since changed it to 7, a time i couldve gone.

Gameday.

I'm willing to give this team one more game- one more game without a predetermined expectation of the outcome. One more game with a clean slate and an open mind. I'd ask that the rest of us do the same and those that are going to the game do everything humanly possible to drown out the UofL fans there. This is a platform. National television, not ESPNU or even ESPN2 at that. A nationally ranked team FINALLY comes into 5th/3rd Arena. That's right everyone, this is the first game all season where UC will HOST a ranked opponent. A win tonight is imperative. I think this team will be in the game down the stretch. My challenge to them if I were Mick Cronin would be two-fold: Play with passion and finish.

I really want UC to win this game for so many reasons but just can't pull the trigger and pick them.

Louisville has won on the road in tough environments and been competitive all season. They responded to being down big and come back and won. They have good outside shooters and play hard and solid on defense. They are also getting healthy and not as thin on the roster as they were.

Cincinnati is a team I think is hanging by a thread. We say this all the time, but Yancy Gates could be huge in this game if he would find it in his little Grinch heart to come and play. Maybe it'll grow three times this day. Their shooting has been off and made worse by poor execution on offense. In big games they've shown a tendancy to turn the ball over and Louisville will pressure non-stop and fall back to a zone and dare UC to beat them from outside. Again, they haven't shown me that they can do this.

On a side note: I really hope that when and if Yancy plays that he does not get booed. This is a game this team sorely needs and the players have to have fan support. If he doesn't play hard Mick needs to sit him quickly but the fans should support him while on the floor. Just my opinion.
Larry Davis says the players know what's at stake. My one hope is we see them lay it all on the line and pull a hard fought close game out. If Dixon and Kilpatrick attack and shoot selective threes, Davis can add some outside shooting, Bishop plays lock down defense and helps on the boards and adds 8 points, and we can get some production out of Yancy while playing 40 minutes of team defense, they can win. As I said I haven't seen that team in a long time.

My heart is always with the Bearcats but until they beat somebody and show 40 minutes of heart, effort, and intelligent basketball I can't pick them to beat good teams. Here's hoping they prove me wrong.

if and when yancy enters the game i will cheer him on because at the end of the day yancy may be the difference between winning and losing. and he aint going to perform and help the team if he is getting booed

I got tickets but I'm not going. Just another dissapointing loss....I've lost all faith in them now...

And herein lies the issue with our fanbase. The team needs the support of the fans to give them a home court advantage. Without UC fans filling the seats, it makes an already tough matchup even more daunting. Once fans lose faith in the team, the season might as well be over.

This quote from ESPN is the absolute reason these teams are in the position their in:

Remarkably, Louisville is 5-3 in those games despite being labeled a "finesse" team by its coach. Pitino credited his team's mental toughness and the selfless leadership of senior captain Preston Knowles for keeping the Cardinals grounded and gritty.

If Cincinnati displayed these two things they would be at least 8-4 right now. When your "best" player is sulking at the end of the bench, you have 5 seniors that aren't leading, and those same seniors are making mistakes at crunch time, you get a 6-6 league record. I am tried of the "I lead by example crap". Get in someones face and tell them to suck it up and play harder!!

"Their leader doesn't care about anything but winning," Cronin said. "Their leader doesn't let their guys run to the locker room to run and check the box score."

It's been 3 years since the Bearcats had a guy like that. It makes all the difference in the world. No matter who the coach is.

Paging Sean Kilpatrick.

It should be the seniors. One or all together. This is their chance to leave a mark on the rebuilding of this program.

No doubt the seniors need to step up- but we all know who the leader of this team is. And I'll qualify that statement with one last one: If he wants to be.

I have no doubt next year and into the future SK will assume a leadership role I'm just interested to see if he does at the end of this year. The kid is 20. He isn't an 18 year old freshman. He's been around the block and he's who I want leading this team. Even when he makes foolish mistakes they're mistakes of passion and energy.

Psax you're missing the point. SK is the best player on this team but it is seniors that set examples and expectations. It is seniors that say "we aren't going out like this!" Look at any good team and it has senior leadership. Listen to any coach with a winning team and he'll say "We have great seniors." It isn't about being the best player. It's about setting standards and making demands on your investment in the program. It's about making others proud to be a Bearcat. It's about pulling people together when things aren't going your way. It's about having been there before. SK can be the best player. The seniors have to lead.

I got tickets and im not going, am I a joke too!?! :D

Granite I cant go due to work... blows. Although something tells me this game could be poor. I hope I am wrong.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: everytime UL has the ball and the shot clock goes to 15, shout "FIFTEEN SECONDS!!!!!!" if you don't know why, don't worry bout why. JUST DO IT.

I hate to drive an hour, then not being able to find somewhere to park...just to watch em get down by 2 pts...then shoot a 3 pointer every trip down court. I am a UC fan, I have been for a long time....but I have no confidence in this team...they don't play hard. It shows. My seats are in the 103 section I believe....would have given them up if I knew somebody else wanted to go.

Well for the Xavier and UK fan......well, at least they play good enough to make the NCAA Tourny.
