Per a source, '19 Cleveland VASJ PF Alonzo Gaffney is visiting Cincinnati today. Gaffney's father player at UC. High upside freshman.

Didn't I see that he was at the scrimmage Saturday with his dad? Looks good in the video, even though the competition looked questionable. Definitely keep an eye on him in the coming years.

Kid looks smooth, but did anyone else kind of laugh at some of the competition? He was heads and tails bigger and better than all of them. Got a nice laugh.

That was my first impression. I mean, the kid is a freshman in high school. I doubt he's playing the best of the best yet. Look at the 20 second mark of that video, the kid defending him doesn't look like anything close to a shutdown defender. Talent's there with this kid it looks like, just depends on how he develops.

Curious to know if Gaffney will be at the homecoming scrimmage again this year. I think I remember Chad or someone saying he comes to homecoming with his dad every year.

I sure hope so. This guy is and will be a superstar. I want him at as many UC events as possible. Especially this year with Kenyon Martin leading the way...

Lets watch the 18 class to see if we recruit a true center. You could take this in any direction. If Cronin knows he has him do you roll the red carpet out for him??

I don't think Gaffney plays center though...what exactly do you mean?

Don't know if I'd go that far yet. He's still just a sophomore in HS. I think he will be a high major player though and given his dad played here and he's an in-state prospect, I think he would be good pick up.

I believe he's listed as 6'7-6'8 but he plays, at least currently, as a wing. He doesn't seem too built to play down low. But, I do not know much about him.
