Many spoke of how detestable it was when Yancy Gates made short work of Kenny Frease in Cincinnati’s rivalry matchup with Xavier this past December. Call it a cheap shot, call it a sucker punch, call it whatever cliche there is in the book for a basketball fight. The bottom line is that every superstar in the league would probably feel 10 times more comfortable on his way to the bucket knowing Gates was there to have his back. His rebounding and ability to keep bigs out of the paint defensively with his strength also translate very well to the next level.
