2012 QB?

Who is your bet to be the quarterback in 2012? I think we all can agree that Zach is the man for this year and next if healthy.

What about 2012? I see 3 serious canidates.

Brandon Kay, Munchie Leaguex or Patrick Coyne.

I would like to see Munchie leaguex redshirt this year and start for his soph, junior and senior years.

If that occurred you could take it to the bank that Coyne would move positions... where else could he play? Safety maybe? Maybe even linebacker?

Coyne is actually a pretty stout kid and very athletic. I've heard it said that he has the ability to play linebacker if all else fails. I see Kay as our QB in 2012 to be honest. He has all the tools and will be a RS senior.

That's what I was thinking regarding Coyne... it almost mirrors the situation with Demetrius Jones last year and his switch because he was too athletic to keep him off the field, so BK found a way to utilize him, with mixed results... Coyne is in the same mold, too good of an athlete to keep off the field...

Well, time to throw another name out there. Former 4 star prospect transfers out of GT and is now a Bearcat. He will have to sit out this year but will be eligible in 2011.

Yep.

UC should not have to worry about having a quality QB until at least 2013 at this point. Like some others have commented I wish we had this same issue at linebacker. However, I will not look a gift-horse in the mouth.

Yup, 5 to play 4 unless there are injuries. So he will use a year this year. I don't know if he redshirted last year, but this year will either be his redshirt or his first year burned due to not being able to have double redshirts.

I will say this. I really like having this kid on the roster, but I am wondering what this means for the team. Are one of the other QBs going to transfer out? 7 QBs on a roster is a lot.......at least it seems like a lot to have.
