Just Thursday

Howd that work out for you? Lol. This is what Mick could have been at UC if he could have got recruits. And he is down multiple star players as well. Mick at UCLA will win in March, he finally is getting great offensive players and just having to teach them great defense. Because we all know he isn’t an offensive minded guy and that caused a lot of issue getting middle of the road recruits. As he starts getting 3-4 top 100 guys a year, he will make some runs.

An 11 seed in a play in game with a team full if top 100 players? Great job.

Duke, UK, Louisville have more talent and sitting at home,

Uc couldn’t even get a NIT or CBI bid

Year 2 in a complete rebuild with zero players on the team
Who’ve played in the tourney. I think your downplaying this a little bit.

He lost his best player (preseason all Pac)after 4 games torn ACL and his best defensive big who started last year with personal issues after 8 games or so. His backup was a kid that should be a senior in high school who came in December. Mick has done a heck of a job this year.

UCLA has 4 guys with a PRPG! above 3.

There were only 2 years at UC when mick had more 2 than guys above 3.0.

That team is loaded with talent, despite missing guys.

37.2% from 3 as a team. It really is a shame he doesn't believe in the 3 point shot, they could be top 10 offensively easily.

10 out of 14 players are top 100. 11 seed play in game.

But you guys are right, if he was still coach here maybe we would have been that 11 seed for the 10th year in a row praying to make it out the round of 64. He is definitely consistent in mediocrity.

Better than the dumpster fire/shitshow here

making the tournament every year is far from mediocrity

Making the tournament every year and doing absolutely nothing in it is the definition of mediocrity in my opinion. Obviously some people think that’s a bigger deal than I do. That’s fine

I honestly think most teams in a decent conference could make the tournament if that was their only goal. Schedule easy, get as many wins as possible, win 1-2 games against good teams. Wichita this year. You can’t be complete trash obviously

Yes, if the goal is just to get in and be happy, this is a great plan. You'll get a 7-11 seed and be home after a game or two.

If the goal is to get a top 4 seed, this is not the way to do it.

I really think this was this was cronin’s plan most years. Which isn’t a bad plan when you don’t have a good team. You put yourself to be somewhat relevant. But like you said, it’s really hard to advance as lower seeds. The pro and con and cronins system.
