#5 Cincinnati Bearcats (11-0) vs. #15 Pitt Panthers (9-2)
Saturday, December 5th - 12:00 PM EST
Heinz Field - Pittsburgh, PA

It's gonna be a close game. If it boils down to a kicking game, it'll be even closer. The longest field goal scored at Heinz Field ever was 43 yards. Must be something about the natural grass field.

I'm certain that our Cats will be up for the challenge......

It'll be close. I do think the Pitt DB will have a tough time against Pike (like Ilinois did), and we'll see alot of passing mixed in with some quick tosses to the RB's.

Yeah, I think it's a combination of the soggy grass (I heard the other day that Pittsburgh is the 2nd cloudiest city in the US) and the way the stadium is constructed. Announcers always talk about how the wind comes into the stadium and swirls around unpredictably. I have seen some crazy hooks and slices while watching Steelers games.

I think Ramsey was actually good to go this past week if needed, but BK kept him out because he knew we would need him for Pitt. He's exactly the type of back we need on a soggy grass field.

I watched the PITT vs. ND and the PITT vs. WV games and they didnt impress me!

Notre Dame dint get any preasure on Stull and he picked them apart!
WV did get preassure on him and he was very flustered and made mistakes! i think the gameplan should be pretty simple alot of D-line stunts and enough of the 4-2 with a rover that we saw against The Illini. i understand the logic bum rush 4 and maintain the line of scrimmage to contain Juice so he doesnt run but he picked us apart also, because we didnt preassure him which is what we need to do to stull and try to contain Lewis!

And catch us if you can on offense!

Brian Kelly is adept at disguising his defense to make up for mismatches, considering the Cincinnati coach moved a quarterback to outside linebacker and flirted with switching a receiver to cornerback.

One of the keys for the No. 5 Bearcats (11-0, 6-0) against No. 14 Pitt (9-2, 5-1) on Saturday will be whether they can confuse the Panthers with their coverage of 6-foot-5, 225-pound receiver Jonathan Baldwin and 6-3, 235-pound tight end Dorin Dickerson — especially with the Big East title and its automatic BCS bowl berth hanging in the balance.

"It's going to be about the individual matchups," Kelly said. "There's a decided size advantage — I don't know it's necessarily our kids, but anyone in the country that's gone up against Baldwin. When he wants the ball and it's thrown in the proximity, he's going to go up and get it.

"We have to obviously have some answers for that."

Cincinnati lost 10 defensive starters from its 2008 conference championship team, with senior free safety Aaron Webster the only returning starter. Notre Dame transfer Demetrius Jones moved from quarterback to linebacker, while Marcus Barnett took repetitions in spring drills at corner before staying put

I like our chances. If we can protect Pike.....we can win. They have a solid front seven, but other teams put up some numbers on them through the air.
Quick passes and disguised runs are gonna be helpful. If we can establish any kind of run (like we didn't against Uconn)....then it's going to be a long day for Pitt.

BTW-Pitt can run the ball, but Stulls is an avg qb at best. He can make throws, and certainly Baldwin is awesome, but I would take our two qb's over him any day.

UC 38
Pitt 30

What a phenomenal game!

One of the best I've seen all season.

Congratulations Bearcats!

Big East Champions!!!

Sorry I missed the thread today, I had my wife's birthday. I'll watch the 2nd half tonite, and maybe post comments tomorrw. Glad to see we won.

Much ado was made about Dixon, and rightfully so....but Pead was pretty darn good. 9 rushes for 76 yards...at 8.4/carry. Dixon had a boatload of carries and avg'd 4.1. He had a lot early, and then was slowed down some. I'd say Pead was a primetime performer (sorry Dickie), and not so much Dixon.
