5 Reasons Why the Bearcats Will Play for a National Championship

I'm looking forward to the season. I forgot about Luc coming in at linebacker. The schedule is definitely favorable. Home game vs. Louisville should be their toughest test. I just hope there is good chemistry and a good transition to a new coach. We all know Tuberville's pedigree, but if the players aren't buying what he's selling it doesn't really matter.

No its not crazy. This should be a top 25 team and it all comes down to schedule. Our schedule is such that losing more than 2 games (rutgers and Louisville) would be embarrassing. Get by those teams and we're looking at 12-0. It's not that we're a top 2 team that deserves to play for the
championship; we just set up well in the current system.

You guys are crazy. Remember last time we returned our mid season replacement QB after getting a new coach? I recall 4-8.

While I don't think it likely we'll play in the championship game due to a weak SOS; the fact is, Butch Jones is not the offensive mastermind Kelly was. That defense was completely worthless. Added to that, we lost our best players in Collaros and Pead due to injury at different parts of that season. We don't have an empty cupboard and this coaching staff is more experienced with a better pedigree. I just don't see with all the pieces we have, going under 10-11 wins.
The only games that should be seen as possible losses imo are the Rutgers and Louisville games.

Agreed, completely different situations. NTS, no one is saying this is a top tier team; just saying with their schedule and returning talent, it could be. A special year if they gel.

call me ants at a picnic but i just don't see UC being put in the NC, even after a perfect season. the article says it, they have a pretty easy schedule. an 11-1 SEC record will trump a 12-0 AAC record. SOS always factors in. hope i'm wrong; a big win over UL would definitely help!

wouldn't mind a shot at redemption in the Sugar Bowl, though.
