Help inside for IU? Not yet

"Indiana has a great history, a great tradition, and it's a great basketball state,'' Meyer said. "But honestly, not a lot of today's recruiting prospects are aware of that, and even if they are aware, it doesn't really matter to them.

"Now, obviously, it's different for a player who is in-state or his family has ties to the university. But to the top-level player that doesn't have that connection, Indiana is basically just another school.''

I took a little clip from the article. Once again, food for thought on what Mick has done at UC.

Here is an article on Baylor. Once again, food for thought on what Mick HASN'T been able to do at UC. How come Baylor, Baylor can recover faster than we can? It's BAYLOR in BASKETBALL!!!!

Drew is also in his 7th season.

Mick is in his 4th season.

Just saying...

The article was written in 2008. All im saying is that people make excuses saying its impossible to win this soon because of what Mick came into. At Baylor, Drew came into a worse situation, I think we can all agree on that. Has Mick done a good job making us respectable? Yes, he has. The question is, has make taken us as far as he can? Thats all I want people to think about.

Now we are agreeing. I am not sure if Mick is the guy to take us to the next level. I am happy with what he has done before this year on the court and recruiting. Now, can he take us from mediocre Big East team to contender? I don't know.

I can respect this question.

Like I said, no coach is without criticism.

Here are some questions. Please answer.

1) Mick has improved his win total every year. Is this not good enough?

2) Mick has steadily improved the talent on the team every year. Is the talent below, average, or above what you thought it would be?

3) This season isn't over and you are questioning if he can take us past "what" point?

4) If so, can you provide some solid facts that point towards him hitting a wall?

5) Mick has had some poor coaching games (i.e. Syracuse, IMO), but is a young coach not allowed to have some learning experiences? While I get extremely frustrated at times, I do not think any one person is immune from fault. I thought Mick outcoached Calhoun the other night, especially considering Uconn did not try to play zone once, after playing some effective zone against Uconn.

1. Improving wins every year is a solid sign of progress. Is the progress fast enough? Not in my opinion. We have two future NBA players on this team, we should be well ahead of the pace.

2. As stated 2 NBA players on this team, and a UC player who has broken ALOT of records in DV.

3. Being past the point of worrying about the NCAA tourney. If we coulda taken care of business and won the games we should have we would be a NCAA lock.

5. Mick has dropped the ball in several games, however I tend to look at poorly executed schemes. Defensively he has had some success, offensively he has had zero success. X's and O's, im still not sure mick has it in him.

1. I can respect that you think we should have more wins. I agree. Unfortunately, we don't and that is how the cookie crumbles. We've also won some close games that we could've lost.

2. 2 NBA players = Lance and Gates (I'm assuming). Neither is projected as a 1st Round Pick, so they are not even close to ready NBA players. For example, BJ Mullens was a top 5 pick (right?) and he was average, if not below average in college. I think Lance and Yancy will play in the NBA at some point in their professional careers........I just don't know when or how long they'll last.

3. Win some, lose some. I get your argument. We disagree on this point.

4. I get your argument here too. However, I think some people tend to overthink our gameplans. For example, I liked our gameplan against Syracuse but we didn't execute in the second half. We also missed tons of open shots.

In the end, let's finish the season and see how things shake out.
