Help Support BearcatTalk:

I've said this before but I used to be simply a UC basketball fan. Even as a student, I attended football games but I just was there to cheer them on. If we lost I wasn't too bothered.

Since CLF has taken over though I am all in. Bought young alumni tickets with friends, follow the recruiting news, and current team news, more and more. Excited for this season and for the future of Bearcats football.

Hopefully, we steamroll AP, the offense looks smooth, and we avoid serious injuries. Get some freshman/ younger guys some PT and gear up for a game at the Big House.

Memories, Like the pages of my mind

It is good to be young and excited. I remember those days!

Thought tonight would never get here.

Today is the start of something exciting! Coach Fickell has done all the right things to get everyone pulling in the same direction. Now the only thing left to do is go out and win some football games!

I hope that the students show up in big numbers tonight. Love when the students are packed into the Nip.

I just hope we can score 47! I know our defense is going to start improving year over year but I hope we can still score a few points to go along with it.

Can't wait to see the new product on the field! Really think we hit a home run with the hire. He's just seems ready for the job right now. He talks about evaluating the most minor details and I like that.

He's passed my "eye test" everywhere so far (recruiting, pressers, community, philosophy, etc)...only one place left to impress and that is in the game! Go Bearcats!

Agreed. I think CLF is at a place where he can have success. Young, fiery coaches have had success here, obviously. Think the defense will be much improved and the offense will follow. The talent is there.

It doesn't matter that the talent is there, the talent that is there has to be better than the talent on the other side of the field. Case in point, tonight our talent will be better, but next week the story may be different.

This early in CLF's career I am more interested to see how prepared we are as a team as opposed to how much talent is on the field. How many dumb mistakes do we have? How are game situations managed? Are the players executing their assignments? Are we missing tackles? Are we blocking down field? Will we give up if we get down too many points? Etc.

Hopefully the talent gap will continue to close with more recruiting classes like this past year. We don't necessarily have to have BETTER talent than blue blood programs to win if we play disciplined, inspired, and as a team.
