I think this is awesome. Also very smart to host it right before the football game to ensure maximum exposure. I believe having it at the banks, compared to fountain square last year, will help immensely.

But nonetheless, I will definitely be there to support the team!

I agree 100% too. I'll be there supporting them too!!

I will make it down for this, if we had a good coach in football I'd stay for the football game too but instead I'll probably get some dinner on the banks!!!

How to force an agenda into a post, textbook example, hope you're taking notes audience at home

For anyone that went last year...did they do autographs? The last "scrimmage" I went to was 3 years ago and they had all the players lined up at the end at a table and they signed stuff for you (Lance Stephenson was there, got his auto too). I'm a big Cincy memorabilia guy, and wanted to get a lot of the new guy's sigs.

Yeah, they did last year. It was during the week so not every player made it down, I'm guessing they'll all be there since it is on a Saturday this year.

Yes there will be autographs...

It will be cooler in the 50's, but the rain should be gone long before it starts at 5:00. I'll be there.

Well, I made a good call. I had a good time at the basketball event though. Practice starts next week, I think on Wednesday.

I got to meet the entire team. I got some really good pics out of it, including one with Mick. Even better I got to meet and talk with Nick Williams and Dion Dixon. Great event! Football game.....not so much. Can't wait for bball.

I was there too and it was so cool to talk to everyone. Nick Williams and Alex Meacham are very nice dudes. They'll talk to anyone for a while. Got some autographs from Corie Blount, Ruben Patterson, Melvin Levett, Leonard Stokes, etc. as well. Wish they'd have done more on-the-court stuff, but a great event none-the-less.

It was kind of stupid but kind of cool to see the team and the new faces. And the old faces. Deberry hands are huge. I guess they couldn't do any scrimmage or anything because practices haven't started. I talked to Mick for a brief moment. He did say he hopes he has a new arena in a few years. Only player I talked to was Gelawn. I really hope he has a good year. Kilpatrick showed up late, wanted to say something to him, but he was being hounded. Cool to see the conference championship trophy.

I could not make it this year. What was turn out fan wise, good crowd?

I thought it was a good crowd considering the low advertising and the crappy weather. I would probably say close to 1000 people were there. The players did not do anything basketball related. They just hung out on the court and a DJ introduced each player. If people were going there to see them "in action" they would have been disappointed. Cronin talked for a few minutes. He didn't say anything news worthy. Ad Mike Bohn talked for maybe a minute. I wasn't impressed with his small appearance.

However, it was a really good opportunity to do a meet and greet with everyone. Obviously they had the current team, but I got to meet, Melvin Levett, Leonard Stokes, Nick Williams, Dion Dixon, Corey Blount and talked with Coach Cronin for a couple minutes. They had the AAC Championship trophy on display too for pictures.

Overall it was a fun event. Could they have done more? Yes, but UC and its marketing team leave me saying that on everything they do. I enjoyed myself and look forward to seeing them in action.

It was hard to market for it because they did not know what time the football would be until a week beforehand. So they had to throw together anything they could to get the word out.
