Bishop Returning?

Good for Rashad.

Yay!!!

LOL not really that excited for a player to return who is a "glue" guy and does nothing extremely well but doesn't do anything horribly. He obviously has a bad attitude and the last thing we need is a average MAC player with a bad attitude.

I wonder if LS leaving has given MC reason for allowing him to work back on the team.

You do not get rid of 3 year starters who will score over 10 ppg and get 8 boards a game who can bring up the ball and gaurd bigs.

With Stephenson gone, Bishop HAS to come back. He will be a senior and has more BE experience than anyone else on the team. He has have an urgency about the season, as this is his last go around, and last chance to make the NCAA tourney. I was hoping that with a year of work in the gym this offseason, LS would average around 15-18 points per game. Making up these points, along with DV's points, will have to fall on Bishop, Gates, and Wright. They all have to have a BIG offseason. The addition of someone else who can consistently put the ball in the hole (Ratliff and/or Burton) becomes that much more important now.

He only has to come back if his attitude is where it needs to be. The only thing worse than not having talent, is having a senior giving everyone else a bad taste in their mouth. That said, if MC decides he can play...then God bless him.

That's true. But it doesn't sound like his attitude has been cancerous for most of his time at UC. Mick was quoted in the article that he has a great relationship with Bishop, and I doubt this would be the case if his attitude was consistently terrible. It sounds like Biphop was frustrated after the Gtown loss and showed immaturity in how he handled it. He had just come off of a great game against Villanova, and then the team laid an egg against Gtown. Not excusing his behavior, but if he meets the parameters set by MC and the coaching staff, and the earns the players trust, I think he deserves a chance to finish his career at UC. We certainly need someone to breakout and have a consistent year, and hopefully Bishop will be the one.

I didn't say the attitude was prolonged, but it sure wasn't an exhibition I ever care to see one of my players exhibit. Our guys have much to learn.
