Blames previous president and the lack of recruiting in last days of Huggins and Kennedy. WLW Radio this morning!

coaching

Ken Broo seemed to blame the past state of the program why the Bearcats have not won more. He seemed to discount the players intensity at times and the ability to run offense or any of the other things we have seen on the court. He sounded like the problem with the cats is not Mick's fault.

Nice work.

I went to his blog, and found this...

UC needs to beat one of the big three left on its schedule to get in, IMHO (Georgetown, Villanova or West Virginia) and the Bearcats have to take care of business with Marquette, DePaul and South Florida. But if they beat at least one of the 'big three' they have left on their schedule, it will be the NCAA clincher.....

I agree. The lack of recruiting, or in my opinion, no recruiting at all, is what brought this program to its knees.

Absolutely. We went two years without recruits. Factor in the time it takes for a mid-major coach like Cronin to get in with BCS caliber recruits and you have a recipe for disaster.

This isn't to make excuses for things that have been seen on the court this year, but merely to clarify how we got here.

One problem is that most kids are courted very early on. MC spent alot of his time the first two years just trying to get warm bodies into UC, much less develop relationships with top notch players. I don't have too much issue with that.
What concerns me is the amount of mental mistakes being made, playing time, rotation, TO's, and the complete disaster of an offense UC has. Mick might be a good coach, but this team has not nearly looked as good since early in the season. The team just looks flat at times.
The jury might still be out on MC, but the players are the ones who need to do their job as well. It's not simply a Mick problem, however, he will be held accountable.

Ken Broo is a hack....worse than Lance in my opinion. It was torture listening to his Bengals pregame. I would love for this city to hire a journalist/radio personality with sports knowledge. Mo is pretty knowledgable when it comes to cincy sports and has the best grasp on a fans perspective but he just isn't very good.

One thing I like to point out about these people are that they didn't get hired bc they are brilliant sports minds. They got hired bc they were a journalism major in college. Just because you speak or write well doesn't mean they know what they are talking about :)

can,t have players that cannot execute at the end of the game. We have all of them in this league. You know my stance on this subject. We have a coaching problem. Looks like everbody is entering freshman public speaking. I really love the execution after the time out. Overtime-- did anybody really not know the victor. I am happy fun ball:)but I see better than I hear!

Well...the ending of the book wasn't surprising, but at least the middle was good.
