Brown is #256 in the preseason KenPom. Should be a breeze. It's always really hard to guess scores for these kinds of games but I'll say

Brown 53
UC 77

Yeah, and first game of the year it's not going to be pretty, but just get the jitters out early and work on things against the first 2 easy opponents. Rohde Island is right around the corner.

Would like to see more from the "unusual suspects" for the first two games in terms of minutes. I hope our studs are ready to shake off the rust. I would like to see us have the luxury to sit Gary and Troy early. Is Evans sitting out?

Want to see more energy out there!!

Scouting Brown:

Final 15-16 kenpom rank: 265
Preseason kenpom: 256
CBS sports preseason rank: 274

Key Returning players:
SR G Tavon Blackmon 6'0 13.3ppg 5.5apg
SR F Steven Spieth 6'6 10ppg 7rph 3apg
Soph G Obi Okolie 6'5 10ppg 4ppg 1apg

Return 5 of their 6 leading scorers from last year.

Shot 35.2% from 3 as a team
But also allowed teams to shoot 35.6%

Lost their leading shot blocker, scorer and rebounder however he was the only player they lost to graduation.

Prediction: we score in the upper 80's on this teams very weak defense and hold them under 60. We also get Tobler time

They played SMU and RI close last year. 8pt loss to SMU and a 3pt overtime loss to RI. Just cant let them get hot from 3. UC left the corner 3 open a lot last year. I think UC will win by 15 but Brown will keep it close for most of the game and then fade.

We played man in the exhibition and scrimmage. I wonder if we try to run a Man defense against the better 3 point shooting teams?

We couldn't play it last year because of Ellis but we maybe able to do it more with the pieces we have

I think thats a testament they like to get up for 'bigger' name opponents. But on the other side of the coin, they were 3-11 in the Ivy, lost by 24 to Yale and Princeton, etc.

They usually play good defense for 25 seconds and then someone loses their mark and they hit a 3 or easy back door layup.

Also hoping everyone isn't banking on Evans to have a huge game Friday. I'm guessing he hasn't been able to practice full go with the foot injury so he will probably be a little rusty.

Troy, Clark and Washington need to forget about the exhibition game and all play solid. Would like to see Brooks get some minutes backing up Kyle. Jenifer needs to continue to impress to keep his playing time up. I expect a big game from our senior- Caupain.

Go Bearcats!

UC wins big, Mick whines in the post game about toughness, many posters on this board overreact to an otherwise meaningless early season game.

Best part of the first game is going to be the Town Hall meeting that takes place before. I can't wait to be apart and hopefully UCats members let Bohn have it.

As far as the game? I just want our players to come out injury free. I would love for JJ, Moore, and Scott to get a good amount of playing time.

Stream the Town Hall over Facebook live.

Evans came back to practice today after missing two weeks. I'd say ease him into the swing of things this week in practice, play him for 10 minutes in the first half and see where we are. Once we are up 20, take him out. Then, for Albany do the same thing, maybe play him a bit more to get ready for RI.

As for everyone else, I want to see us come out firing. I was Troy pushing the pace, Clark and Washington running the floor, KJ up in his man's face, and Evans knocking down shots. Want to see our bench guys come in fired up, play sound defense while taking care of the ball and making good passes.

We should pretty much have our way on offense. I want to see our offense moving, players cutting, with great passes.

We should win this game by 20+.

Cats- 82
Brown- 57

Gonna say Cincy 89 Brown 68. Troy and Gary have big games, and everyone calms down about their exhibition performances. Also 68 seems like alot of points for brown, but i believe Western Carolina scored 72 on us in the opener last season.

Whose going? I sent a group text message to my friends and got 15 of them going. I hope the crowd is there. At least 10k
