The drawbridge protecting the Queen City's kingdom of high school recruiting riches remains slightly raised for Ohio State coaches, who must jump higher to enter the Cincinnati castle than they do in other Ohio metro areas.
In good years, the Buckeyes hop right on up and sign a handful of Cincinnati players. This was not one of those years. Instead, recruiters were spotted dangling from the bridge that spans the moat meant to keep outsiders at bay. Ohio State, while not technically a Cincinnati outsider, also is not an insider. And in Cincy that makes you an outsider, unless you're Notre Dame, which is an adopted son because of Cincinnati's large Catholic community.
