Did you guys see St. Johns next 8 games?

I really like the St. Johns squad. Very athletic and strong defensively. What a coaching staff they've assembled! Not bad to have a HOFer sitting on the bench and game planning for you. Gene Keady was as big a get for Lavin as any recruit.

I have been questioning people since the beginning of the season why they keep marking the 2 games versus St. Johns as "Sure" or "Should Be" wins. If they hold court over the next few games I think a win against them will be considered a quality win instead of a "should've won" game.

I believe on Monday St. Johns was 10th in the rpi. After the Georgetown win they will be higher. It is already a quality win if you grab one against them. I think it will be home wins for both teams.
 
It will be interesting to see how St. John's handles this stretch. They have 12 games this year vs. ranked opponents. Because of that I think they get into the tournament if they hit the 20 win mark. They're 10-3 at this point.

You're probably right. The issue for them could be the glass ceiling effect in conference. If they finish 9th in the conference, it is going to be hard for the selection commitee to bump them over a team that finished ahead of them.
 
While the Big East is really balanced and talented, it is somewhat overrated this year, I honestly would be surprised if a team made the Final Four. I don't think Nova, UConn or Syracuse are as good as their ranking would lead one to believe.

Overrated how? All anyone talked about before this season was that the Big East was going to be a little down this year because of all the talent that went Pro. All the Big East has done is won nearly every major early season tournament, beaten nearly every top out of conference opponent they have played and proven that top to bottom, it is the deepest league in the country by far. If you want to talk overrated, go look at the ACC. At this point in the season it is way too early to say any team can't win the National Championship. Every team in the country is beatable this year. Let's see how the season plays out.
 
UConn and Nova definitely overrated. I was talking to one of my friends last week and told them it was time for UConn to start losing, and like I said, they have. If they played Michigan State and Kentucky now, they'd lose both games.
 
I really think people are drunk when they say these Big East teams are overrated. I keep reading that Big East teams do not when the title and dont advance as far in the tournament, Hopefully these people get there facts straight and read up before they start trashing the conference. The Big East is so talent filled and so hard, they beat the hell out of eachother night in and night out. Name one premiere program in the nation that would take a invite to be part of the Conference? I dont think one big time program would even think twice about doing it.... The conference rebuilds and reloads every year, wow imagine coaching in the conference with a depleted team and none of your own recruits, man that would be difficult....
