Cash - At this point everyone knows what they are going to get from cash... I will say this, he needs to score the ball this season. Percentage wise he is our best shooter and needs to pick and choose his spots to score. Hopefully Mick doesnt use him much when not needed ( avoid knee issues late in season)

SK - Well Sk is going to be the guy this season, it will be interesting to see how he responds. Last night he could get to the hole whenever he wanted... surprisingly he went to his left once or twice. Hopefully his defense has improved.

Parker - I like having him at the true 3 this year and hopefully he will be able to take advantage of opposing 3s and really crash the boards hard. He had his quiet 10 or so last night and hit a three or so.

Titus - Started because of an hand injury to Justin.... Was the most impressed with what he brought to the table. He is going to compliment Justin really well at the 4. Was surprised to see him knock down some threes and long jumpers. He had a nice dunk or two as well. Mick has ranted about him and last night you saw a glimpse why. He is no all star but is a nice piece to the puzzle for this team. Hopefully his defense and rebounding improves. Also he plays with an edge. Almost like a throw back UC player.

Chek - Going in the C position was going to be the issue.... While I still think it is, Chek eased my mind a bit on that... The first half he played really well. His defensive footwork has picked up immensely. Overall his body type has completely changed. He by far as improved the most from last season.

The Bench

Justin - Will start, didnt play because of hand... I think he stood more then Mick at the game. I really hope he has added an offensive piece to his game. He can blow by any 4 and get to the basket... LOOK TO DUNK.

G - Probably the most important backup player on this years team. He has to be able to come in and spell Cash and run the point effectively. I think its clear that Mick has chosen him as the backup PG. Last night he forced a shot or two, hit a few shots... If he can make open shots, play sound defense (with his length and quickness he should be a defensive phenom) and not turn over the ball I will be pleased.

Sanders - Not going to lie, was expecting a big jump in his game. He has come in and lost some weight. But nothing stood out to me. Mick trusts him, but at somepoint he has got to take the next step.

David - That dude is tall.... If he can come in and rebound and block shots thats all we need. He has a better touch and better awareness then gaines, but hes no where near as strong. He did get out rebounded on a free throw, which I nearly lost it.

Gaines - I would expect Gaines and David to have similiar minutes this year. Gaines is strong enough to not get pushed around... The guy can still jump thats for sure.

Shaq - wow. I dont feel like he is going to bring a ton to the table this year. But he has some serious talent to be a great player. As a Freshman he has some serious handles and quickness. People concerned with his defense shouldnt be, he was all over the place... I cant wait to see him develop. He will be the future imo of this team.

Jerry - Well I think this is going to be a tough year for him... I dont see very much playing time and almost feel like he may be the odd person out. If Mick was considering red shirting someone it might be him. He hardly got any minutes last night and when he did he had a bad turnover.

Sanders does not need to score in my opinion. He is your typical bench player who can come in and give a team member rest. His defense did look improved and perhaps he can become an important defensive player like Bishop.

1. It's one game. An exhibition, at that.

2. Sanders may be one of those unselfish players that will need to be told to score more.

Well in that case TheLegend tells him to score more.

He needs to take the next step. His best quality cant be that he doesnt hurt the team.

Nice run down Legend. Basically agree with everything you said. Rubles becomes your bench scorer and GG is definitely the player I will be watching for progress his season. Believe Sanders will be fine once he spends a little more time on the floor and gets a better feel for the flow of the game. Shaq is our star of the future. A redshirt year would be good for JD.

We have so many pieces, I think Mick is still trying to figure out how to use/when to use them. A few more games, and we should have a pretty good routine established. Rubles and Sanders are the two best bench players we r gonna have, IMO. Both very good offensively, which is gonna be very important for a team that sometimes goes cold for spurts of time.
