"“We’re trying to build them up,” Cronin said. “I don’t believe in crushing the guys early. Our first two weeks we spent 90 percent of our time on shooting in our individual workouts. Historically, we’re a great defensive team. I’m pretty confident we’re going to be able to defend. We’ve got to make more shots and be more efficient on offense. We’re trying to work with guys now while we have time.”"

Time to see the results of all this offense they are working on....,,,

I'll believe it when I see it on the court (same thing for an uptempo offense). There are similar quotes from the last two years about spending most of the early time on offense but that obviously never transitioned over to the court.

Didn't want to create a new thread for this but thought it was nice mention (a little off topic). Jon Rothstein is a bit overly optimistic at times but it's good off-season stuff.

Got em on my breakout list. Will start at SF @DruryKori Player to keep an eye on is Shaq Thomas out of Cincinnati....

Keeping with the Rothstein tweets....

Decision Day tomorrow for Abdul Malik-Abu + Jared Terrell. Hearing NC State leads for Abu, per multiple sources. Terrell still TBD.

Could be a good thing for our chances in landing Gary Clark if Abu chooses NC State.

This.

All the off-season does is give Mick more time to talk to the media about his team, which is never a good thing....

And the cynicism begins from a few already. LOL gotta love it. My Dad used to say, "Some wouldn't be happy if they worked in a pie factory and get to eat every other pie." I think it's true.

You can call it cynicism all you want but it's the truth. Mick says this stuff every year. I'm still happy with the team, direction, etc, but I'm not naive enough to believe this stuff each and every year.

Every coach says this stuff every season. It's called selling your players, selling your team, selling your program. What's he suppose to say, "We suck?" But I think I get the spirit of what you're saying now.
