East Carolina (8-9, 2-2 AAC, NET #232) are trying to atone for a slow start to the season that saw them break in 11 new scholarship players, while also losing key returnee Seth LeDay after just 6 games. The Pirates have bounced back over the past month by winning 6 of their past 8 games, which include home wins over USF and SMU as well as a competitive 6-point loss at Wichita State.

All discussions relating to ECU basketball typically start and end with star sophomore forward Jayden Gardner who is averaging 21 and 9 through the first half of the season. Gardner, who reminds me of Eric Hicks, attacks the basket ferociously and currently leads the nation in FT attempts where he draws just under 9/game and shoots 76% from the foul stripe.

Aside from Gardner, ECU is a respectable FT shooting team as a whole making 72.3% of their shots season, but they are a very poor 3-point shooting team (28.3% on the season) and are coming off a 2-26 outside shooting performance at home against Tulsa that resulted in a 65-49 loss.

Seeing that we are 17-point favorites at the moment, hopefully this game can produce an array of solid individual performances and could mark one of the last opportunities for extended bench minutes for some players.

However, a win comes above all else, and after last year's upset loss, we should not take this team lightly in the least bit.

Zach Harvey..... good sign/ this might be a game brannen tries to play the bench more than normal/ can’t wait til Chris McNeal graduates

Have been getting some good minutes from Harvey so far too. Vogt has been having some nice passes as well

Really good sign to see Harvey playing with confidence, was getting worried about him

Tre Scott played well at home against East Carolina...... relax

Also, to add to this, no one hates Tre. Probably one of the most liked Bearcats on the team. We would simply like him to stop throwing the ball to other team and stop shooting mid range jumpers. Fairly easy fixes that would improve his game

Team has been rebounding really well. Seems like they are making strides just can’t get over the hump. Hopefully can win at temple.
