He should qualify for the medical redshirt......this is probably the best thing for him though(besides the broken wrist part). Let him sit for now and practice with the team once he gets healthy. Maybe make him eat a few steaks and hit the weight room before next season.

He can return in January, no reason to redshirt him. The NCAA requires proof of an injury for a medical shirt so if he gets one the injury is not bogus.

You'd be surprised what teams docs can come up with Ralphy. Let's just say I have a solid hunch we won't see Ellis the rest of this year, and he may or may not have an injury.
