How do you guys think Gates will do in this offense. I have a feeling it may actually work just fine. He will probably get a ton of dunks

Although Gates can play moderate well in the low post, I think he'll be even better when he's free to float around. My only rule going into that, he and Mbodj can't be on the floor at the same time.
Sub Mbodj and Gaines, Jackson and Yancy. I think post play will improve, I think Jackson and Gaines are going to gain confidence during this stretch, and become more offensively potent and stop fouling as much.
Gaines seemed to get better as the game went on tonight. I really don't feel as bad about him as I did earlier.

What everyone needs to realize is that we will see a mixture of offense based on game situations. If we get a decent lead later in a game, you may see a more traditional line up (depending on our competition of course). At the same time, if we are down and need offense, expect to see a 4 guard line up a lot. What we have seen the last 3 games will become the norm but don't expect it to be the only offense we run.

I think Gates can do well in this style of offense. I'm not sure how well he'll get back on defense in an up and down game, but honestly other than a physical presence he wasn't exactly a stopper on defense. He'll crash the offensive glass and get his share of thunderous dunks. I agree that Mbodj should probably sub for Gates and Gaines for Jackson in an uptempo style. I just wonder what we'll do without his highly effective screens twenty feet from the basket on offense. (Note sarcasm)

ya i think hell do well to. if you look rest our big men there perfect for the new offense its like cronin had this plan whole time he just had gates in way put it frank. guy went hometown school of cincinnati which wasnt a look at me move. he did it cause he has pride for his city to rebuild the program he grew up watching we had to sign him and once we got him we had run offense thru him. the thing we all seem forget including me is that it worked it got us back tournament so all in all it was a perfect storm but in saying that i think hell do very well in it alot of catching and dunking
