Huggins teams imposed the toughness, this team withstands it. The way FSU played defense reminded me of some of our old teams with Huggins. That was an absolute battle. These boys did not back down from the fight. We all know if they had their way (other than maybe Jackson or Gaines) they would want no contact at all during a game. That makes it even better they manage to play through it so well. Especially Gates. He has been taking a beating night in, night out (that's why he was quoted as saying this game was no different than a list of others he named). That was a game we will remember for years to come. It was within three points either way pretty much the middle 35 minutes of that game. Dixon's steal for a quick two and Killa's two threes was the run we needed to get the game to a two possession lead. From there it was free throw after free throw after free throw. Oh my God I was a nervous wreck every time they put up one of those free throws down the stretch. And I couldn't yell cause my wife was sleeping.
