I thought this article was on point. It is obvious that ESPN doesnt want competition in the sports market and since the Big East is going to sign a TV deal with NBC Sports it has now become ESPNs job to constantly belittle the Big East. They continuously praise the ACC(for doing absolutely nothing in football) and the episode of College Football Live just proves it.

They really want the big east dead. They are gossiping behind everyone's backs. They already got into Wvu, Pitt and syracuses ear. Now they are encouraging nd, uconn, rutgers and ul to go

Interesting read. ESPN's actions shouldn't have been a surprise to the Big East. I think it showed poor vision and planning on the conference's part. There reaction since has also also moved a glacial speed.

The Pitt stuff about leading the charge to turn down an ESPN deal always seemed fishy to me. I have no idea where they were in the process of deciding or being offered an ACC slot when it occurred.

That is the standard response to all of my posts.

Looks like you were right about ND and BearcatMick was completely wrong about...well...everything....

It appears to me that ND was telling the ACC and the Big12 they would join in an attempt to get a bigger deal from NBC in 2015... Basketball and the other sports I guess they could still join somewhere especially if ESPN is still being shady, but I doubt for football any time soon

Football: Basketball

1. SEC 1. Big East
2. Big Ten 2. Big 10
3. Big 12 3. ACC
4. Pac 12 4. Big 12
5. Acc 5. SEC
6. Mountain West 6. Pac 12
7. Big East 7. Mountain West

You should just stop. There is absolutely no way the Mountain West is better than the Big East.

I reported other people saying that nd would join the big 12 in bball, not football for 2013. You are way off base here

Big East Football is a joke dude.... Boise State alone makes mountain west better than the big east.

No one in the Big East is elite, but every school is pretty bunched up as pretty good. The MWC (now without TCU) is no way as good. Look at the bottom feeders like Wyoming, Hawaii, New Mexico, etc. Those teams are horrible. The bottom school in the Big East last year was Syracuse, and they beat WVU by 20+ points...it is foolish to think the MWC is nearly as good.

For bball the be and big 10 are interchangeable

For football the be is better than the mwc

The Big East has been a better conference than the Big 10 in basketball over the last several years. One big advantage to the Big East is that there are rarely nights off (if ever) and you have to prepare for every style of play possible week to week. The Big 10 teams all play the same way. Much easier to prepare for. The Big 10 is a good conference but, as it is constituted right now, not as good as the Big East.

The MWC is not better than the Big East. If it was, they would be getting more money for their TV deal and Boise wouldn't be leaving. That is all you need to know about the MWC.

I would agree the top dogs in the be are much better however I think you can make a case for big 10 from top to bottom.

That's dicey. DePaul has been garbage but if you look at the other bottom feeders, I would argue that St. John's, Providence, and South Florida have been better recently than Penn St., Northwestern, or Minnesota. Nebraska is pretty bad too. It is always hard to compare conferences when one has 16 teams and another has 12. If you took the top 12 Big East teams (I know you can't really do that) it is a no brainer, the Big East is far superior. Unfortunately, the DePaul's of the world have to be considered.
