WASHINGTON -- Georgetown Hoyas center Greg Monroe has declared for the NBA draft and plans to sign with an agent, skipping his last two seasons of college eligibility.
Hoyas coach John Thompson III said in a statement released by the school Saturday that Monroe made an "educated decision."

The 6-foot-11 Monroe was a third-team AP All-American as a sophomore after averaging 16.1 points, 9.6 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.5 blocks.

He was the Big East Conference rookie of the year in 2008-09 after averaging 12.7 points and 6.5 rebounds as a freshman.

If UC can get their act together (offensively), there is plenty of room for them to do well next year, as much of the BE talent is leaving early.

Alum is right, Lance, Toyloy, and DV are replaceable, espec as far as points go. They offered little in terms of leadership, and so players need to step up to fill those two much needed voids.

I find it a bit interesting that Greg Monroe's Freshman numbers are very similar to Lance's. I always thought Greg averaged more points and rebounds as a Freshman.
