Few people know better than Connor Barwin what Mick Cronin was up against when he took over the UC basketball program.
Barwin, now a defensive end with the NFL Houston Texans, played basketball in 2005-06 during Andy Kennedy's year as interim head coach and again in 2006-07 in Cronin's first year when the program was its lowest point.
He attended several UC games this past season and was pleased to see the Bearcats reach the NCAA Tournament.
"I was so happy for Mick and those guys, the seniors," Barwin said. "For what he had to start with, to rebuild that program better and better and make the tournament...I'm really looking forward to next season."
