I have been saying for years that 2011 will be our best team ever on paper and still believe that. I know people will scream about last years 2009 team and they got the most out of the talent easily but I am talking about the best team on paper.

We will be returning the

Seniors:

Binns (WR)
Sam Griffen (LT)
Jason Kelce (G/C)
Randy Martinez (G)

Juniors:

Zach Collaros (QB)
Isaiah Pead (Leading RB)
DJ Woods (Leading WR)
Alex Hoffman (RT)
Evan Davis (G/C)

Freshman:

Anthony McClung

So essentially we will have a bunch of skilled position guys.

4 starters will be lost. I list Binns and the 3 O-line. I know Barnett is starting but I can't imagine that he will that much longer honestly. He would not be stating over Thompkins or Vidal who could both be playing next year.

Now the defense...

Youngest defense I can remember since Bryd's freshman year when they started 7 freshman I believe.

Seniors:

None

Juniors:

Dominique Battle (#1 corner)
Derick Wolfe (DT)
JK Shaffer (LB)
Wes Richardson (SS)

Sophomores:

Dan Giordano (RE)
Brandon Mills (DT/DE)
Walter Sterwart (DE/OLB)
Malik Bomar (LB)
Rueben Johnson (CB)
Cam Cheatham / Chris Williams (Nickel back CB's)
Drew Frey (FS)

The Breakdown:

4 Seniors
9 Juniors
8 Sophomores
1 Freshman

Returning 17 starters and the entire D.

Give this team some time to gel under the new coach and maybe we can keep this thing rolling.

The potential for next year is great- and don't forget the two guys in the secondary the team has added through transfer recently. The defense should be the best since 2008, without a doubt... there is no reason this team cannot win the Big East this season after what we saw last night. Two weeks until Miami. Get healthy, work hard and keep that bell. With the way the schedule sets up, unless this team regresses, they should be 5-3 going into the matchup with WVU in Morgantown.

Our schedule worked out well for us this year in regards to winning the conference. Tough early games to test us and make us better, a month and a half before your first conference game and your weaker conference foes early and the tougher ones late. This team should have gained a lot of confidence last night and should continue to get better. This conference is definately winnable. At this point you have to say West VirGINA is the favorite. Too bad we don't get them at home. Nobody else has looked impressive at all. Lets just hope we improve better than everyone else in the league down the stretch. And lets hope DJ shakes off whatever is in his head. We need him.
