Basketball has become a sport about offense, and offense only. How many times have you played at the local Y and had some kid score 30 against you but give up 40 because he is lazy on D and won't stop anybody? A select few will play D. How frustrating is it to be making a comback, cut the lead to about 10 and watch a star, in his mind at least, let some guy that's no good hit a wide open 3 because he was too lazy to get over to play D and end any momentum your team had at the time.

I'd like to see our team play hard for 40 minutes, and play tough, hard-nosed defense. Fine, they have trouble scoring...doesn't mean UC needs to give up easy baskets on back door cuts. Or for that matter, get beat back after made baskets.

What I'd like to see from this point forward...

-DV taking the initiative and putting the team on his back. Win or lose, he has to step up, take more shots, get fouled, and somewhat resemble his past heroics.
-LS and Gates both need to stop being tentative, and take at least 10 shots, preferably close to the basket. LS needs to rebound, and push the ball quickly. We are not seeing him make the great passes that he did early on in the season.
-Stop the turnovers. Ball control is hurting our chances to win. More shots are needed with our horrible shooting percentage.
-Dixon and Bishop need to step up, and work their inside game more.
-Like to see Thomas continue working his inside game. Draw fouls and attention from the opposing 'bigs' to free outside 3's.
