With reports that the Big East is contacting ISU, K-State, Mizzu, and KU I have heard of this possibility for Big East Basketball....

You have 2 divisions of 10 teams. When it comes to conference tournamanet time you have 2 tournaments.

1 will be played in St. Louis (west division) and the other at MSG. The finals would then be at MSG.

COuld you imagine this happening!?

Well...the BE needs to do something, or be swept away into mediocrity. Probably would be a good move. I would also be patient as other opportunities may present themselves...either with additional teams or a move outside of the BE.

The weak football of the ACC and Beast scares me. If the conferences are picked clean by the B-10 and SEC, I look for a consolidation of the 2. Some conferences like CUSA could find itself strengthened thru this as well, as schools look to attach somewhere. Kansas, K.St., Missouri, and Iowa St. would add to a conference's strength.

How would Cincinnati, Louisville, Missouri, Kansas, Kansas St., Memphis, Iowa St.,Baylor, UTEP, in a league together grab ya?

You had me at Kansas and lost me at UTEP. The Big East will stay pretty much intact and keep BCS bid until a playoff starts. HAs any word at all come out of the NCAA offices? Conference realignment is not the thing the incoming president wanted to hear. Maybe the realignment gets trumped by the greedy grubby greasy hands of the NCAA. A playoff may not be too far behind....

Some are saying the new alignments are aimed at supplanting the NCAA and pave a way for a national championship football game.

The BCS is already separate from the NCAA and the NCAA sees no money out of it. Seems to me like we are still far away from a playoff.
