Lance had the play of the year.

Here is why Lance Stephenson is a badass and gets my respect. Not to mention, Kilpatrick has not even stepped on the floor and he is putting in extra work in the gym. If you're a Bearcat fan and don't love reading this excerpt, you must not have a heartbeat. Period.

"For Stephenson, his journey to redemption from an ineffective 11-minute performance on Sunday moved into an inspired gear at 11 p.m. Tuesday night.

It was then he and redshirt freshman Sean Kilpatrick slipped into Fifth Third Arena for a late-night practice session. Stephenson says he drilled curling off picks and draining his jump shot.

The session didn't end until 2 a.m."

It worked.

Stephenson recorded the first double-double of this career, 18 points and 10 boards.

"This was the third time I've done it," Stephenson said. "I got to do it more to get better."

Awesome. Nothing like 3 hours of shooting practice after your ass sat on the bench and watched your team lose. Anyone who watched that game saw Lance going nuts on the sidelines. Lance wanted to be out there badly.

How can anyone not want to play with someone like Lance? I'm sure most of us have all played with someone who isn't the greatest "team" player, but loved to play with them because of the desire to be the best and win.

I wish we had a team of Lance Stephensons.
