Melvin Johnson - Miami LOI

He has asked for and received his release from his LOI. Would love to see UC go after him. Virginia Tech, South Florida, Dayton and Georgetown were after when he signed with the Hurricanes. Excellent shooter who can knock down shots off the dribble or when set. Will kill you on open looks. At 6'3" and 175 lbs. he has a college ready body.

Probably not but he is that knock down shooter you love to have.

One of the reasons I wonder why you bring in 2 combo guards back to back. Was hoping for more of a pure point and a knockout shooter.

But it's nice to have early commits and they could be great players.

i asked if uc ever had interest i.e. did they pursue/recruit him previously? i don't remember his name being floated around this past year.

It hasn't. I think Jeff was just bringing our attention to a guy he likes that was let out of a LOI.

The inability to recruit forwards, who aren't jucos is irritating.
