Memphis to the Big East Tomorrow

I don't get how the basketball schools would allow the footballs schools to have one more vote than them. Unless Memphis joins as a nonvoting memeber (unlikely).

Brian Bennet said there wouldnt be an announcement tomorrow.

I think it will happen. Maybe not this week but sooner rather than later.

I wouldn't mind it. The Big East needs to get to nine to even out the number of conferences games so teams can play an even number of games home and away. What's more, it will make scheduling the OOC games easier as it is easier getting four as opposed to five.

Finally, maybe an addition of Memphis will be beneficial to UC from a recruiting perspective. There is a lot of talent down in western Tennessee. If BE games are on the local television, maybe the Bearcats can snag a few blue chips up north.

I would rather have Central Florida... Really, I think we need to get to (12) schools.
CFU, Memphis and East Carolina would be a good start.. The sooner these schools are
on board, the sooner they upgrade to BCS status,,that helps to secure the Big East
as a BCS conference...

I would rather have UCF too, but I think there are about 10M reasons (cough, cough) why Memphis will get the nod first.

I think it would be good for the Big East and for Memphis. Obviously, Big East basketball would be even more competitive. I also wonder if by joining the Big East, Memphis would make a real effort to step up their football program. It would have to help in their football recruiting, I would think. It will be interesting to see.
