Game is Saturday at 12 PM on ESPN2.

Memphis is 13-9 overall with a 4-5 AAC record. They just lost last night at home 77-57 vs UConn. Memphis was outscored 41-20 in the 2nd half.

Memphis is #94 in KenPom...#140 in AdjO, #63 in AdjD, and #7 in AdjT.

I'm guessing we'll be -4.5.

Looks like we were thinking the same thing at the same time. Just posted a memphis thread. Gonna delete mine and add what I had in mine here.

Opponent: Memphis
Where: FedEx Forum
Time: 12pm EST

Memphis:
Kenpom: 94
RPI: 135
BPI: 67
Sagerin: 85

UC:
Kenpom: 33
RPI: 67
BPI: 31
Sagerin: 31

A Bit worried about this game because Memphis has lost 2 straight and last year we didn't look so hot inside the Fedex Forum. Ellis had a terrible game (probably from all the pressure locally) and we turned the ball over 20 times. Memphis got worked by uconn in the second half and blew what was a close game at half. I expect them to come out ready to defend home court, I really think Pastner's job depends on it.

I don't think this UC team is capable of turning it over 20 times but we absolutely need to hit shots. I'd rather not allow them to hit 20 3's again as well.

Last game we did a great job of shutting down Dedric lawson who was just 1-11 from the field. He has scored single digit points in games against us, Uconn and SMU. Need it to stay that way.

I won't be worried if we play ferocious defense and take every opportunity to score in transition.

I am worried about this game. But I am usually always thinking of the worst. This is such a huge game for UC. We need to win for so many reasons like winning the league and making the tourney.

I am worried about Burrell. He is a senior and can do some damage. He will play with a purpose. It's hard to beat teams like Memphis twice. I hope the crowd is weak! It's a local 11 am tip. I heard the crowd for the UConn game was bigger/rowdier than normal. Maybe their fans have had enough and stay home?!

If we play solid defense and create turnovers I like our chances. We have to take care of the ball! We always can't come out flat and get in a hole.
I will predict a victory:
UC-73
Memphis-70

I will be at Mios in Clifton watching this one. It seems to be a good luck charm when I watch roadies there.

I will like to see how this "new" more assertive Clark does this time around. Only had 7 points and 4 boards against Memphis the first game but since then is averaging 15 pts and 8 rebs.

Feels good to be back fellas. I was out a week.

Anyways, I can't wait until noon tomorrow. I was worried about this game but then watching them play UCONN I realize that we should have no problem with this team. Go Bearcats! We look like a whole different team out there. If we played this tough all year we probably are 21-3

As long as this team comes out with focus and intensity we should be just fine. We are playing with more confidence and urgency lately. Need to keep the momentum going.

Just looked at the ticket availability for the Memphis game.

Lots of seats available but also hard to tell because its such a huge arena.

There were 13k there for the 8pm Tip against Uconn.

I would expect less than that for an 11am local tip but who knows.

Burrell didn't play against Uconn for disciplinary reasons BUT in the post game conference, Pastner said he would be re-instated today.

He must have done something pretty bad for pastner to hold him out against a great opponent like uconn

Its kinda insane how bad of a shooting team memphis is.

They will be the 4th worst teams in 2pt% we play this year ( Morgan st, ark Pine bluff, norfolk st are the only ones worse)

And the 6th worst 3pt shooting team we play.

Whats also interesting about UC vs Memphis is that UC is ranked 5th in the nation in forcing there opponent to use as much shot clock (18.6 seconds) and Memphis is on the opposite end of the spectrum offensively at 6th in country in least amount of shot clock used per possession ( 14.3 seconds).. Its literal way of pace on there offense vs our Defense

Gearing up for that eventual 9-12 seed

If UC drops this one, you can start gearing up for 1-2 seed in the NIT.

It's a must win. Memphis is horrible. Pastner would be gone, if he didn't have a 10.5 million buyout. That program is a mess.

That said, Memphis wins by 6.

Nice optimism man.

And if this was our only loss of the year, we'd still make the tourney. and if we lost this and say, to Houston. But beat Uconn, SMU, tulsa and the crap teams then the RPI forecast shows we have what it takes to be in.

I don't understand Cincinnati sports fans. Its like they get off by writing off there team. When UC beats Memphis, don't join in on the celebration.

Oh my bad, man.

I guess I should feel big and bad after watching UC beat up on USF.

You think UC would still make the dance dropping one to a sub 130 rpi team? Even if they win out, with they won't, because March is when Mick's teams really peak, right?

Most think we are in the play in game as right now. You really think or feel safe with a loss to Memphis? And all those teams, save SMU, are crap teams this year. Including UC.

UC can't lose. Period.

Dude. They could lose 1 more game or even 2. It just depends to who. And wtf are you so down on this team. Statistically we are way better then last year. We dropped some games that we should have won and actually outplayed the opponent but ESPN was calling us a wounded lion and potential giant killer who under achieved in the season but have all the right ingredients to beat top teams on a nuetral floor.

Our pace is up over the last 4 games. Our defense is back. We just beat uconn on the road. We beat vcu on the road.

And we're playing our best basketball right now. I mean you go on to rag on Memphis and yet say they will beat us like they are better than us.

We don't have a bad loss this season (if bad loss is to a 100+ rpi team). Kenpom has us at 33, sagerin at 31 and bpi at 31.

We are a good team who played bad in a few games. On paper were better then the kilpatrick senior year On offense. You seriously are trying to paint a picture of us being equal to usf or something .
