In most off-seasons, we feel like we are headed in a good direction and our team will have a chance for some big success. Does anyone think that this year? I sure don't. Our players have to feel that. No doubt. So what's making our players go the extra mile this summer?

I don't know if these returning players will ever recover from Sunday.

I have a bad feeling about our close games next year. We may be a bubble team. I thought there was no way that could be true before. But this loss on Sunday is something so damaging I just don't know how we bounce back.

Jake I think Mick recruits kids that have a good work ethic. Effort or work ethic has never been a issue for Cronin coached teams. I do think as we are currently sitting we are not as talented as last years team but we could land a player or transfer that could improve our situatio.

They could also use it for motivation. Time will tell

Not anymore than the teams past have used losses as motivation. Except this time, they can't really go up. We got the 2 seed. We got the draw. We choked harder than any team in NCAA Tournament history. I seriously don't know why these guys would work as hard as last year.

I hope because they love the competition. You don’t get to this level without drive to be better

I worry about coach losing the team. If I was Cumberland, I'd completely tune him out and go pro after next year. Even if it means he has to go overseas. Being berated and humiliated to the level he was on national TV is unacceptable. I would lose a lot of respect for my coach if he treated me that way.

Cumberland is the epitome of a great college player that is not fit for the nba, there is no way he is leaving early

Jake I saw Higgins scream expletives at his players you could hear in the cheap seats. I also saw him argue with Eric Martin and send him to the locker room. I think the players are a bit more thick skinned then that. His players respect the hell out of Mick. If they didn’t no way they ay that hard or get the results they do. Do they argue sure but most families do,

All I know is after what happened this year, I'd be in it for myself from now on if I'm Cumberland or Broome especially. We are obviously going to be worse. So what's the point?

This thread is making me sad.

Im hoping this is used as motivation to never let your foot off their throats again. And our coach needs to learn that first. It happened all year. Get a lead then try to hang on with Evans going 1:1 for the last 7-10 minutes. Awful.

There is no way mick should have said anything other than take complete ownership of that failure. To do otherwise shows a lack of leadership. Time will tell if we as a program can be better because of this lesson learned or if we will not making any changes and be worse.

I know I’m way less excited about the program. Had our best shots the last 2 years and come up empty. It’s depressing. If Evans sticks around (I think he does not), there is a slim chance of a special year if Evans becomes a legit 1st rounder (works on jumper), Cumberland Kees improving and Cane becomes the Cane I think he can be AND is allowed to play that way. But I’m leaning more towards tough year and no seeet 16 rather than the a good year and tournament success.

I think we overestimate how much these kids hold on to things. If the team doesn't perform next year it'll be for a lack of talent, not a fluke loss.

Why? Didn't you say you don't think he's an NBA guy?

Why go overseas live in a country you don’t know with people you don’t and a language you don’t know?

When you can be a rockstar for 2 more years and live in a college environment that you’ll never get the chance to ever do that again.

Idk

Would people be happy with 1 sweet 16 every 10 years if it meant we were somewhat relevant every year? (Top 30ish team, top 3 in league). I feel like some people would be fine with this. I kinda think it’s crazy for a top program to be ok with this.
