NBA Picks

Could be any of the easy picks: Miami, LA, Boston... but frankly, I'm sick of hearing about them all already... the team (and player) I'll be rooting for all year, even though they probably still don't have enough to make a ton of noise in the playoffs, is the Thunder and Kevin Durant. Always enjoyed him as a player and what he did on the USA team this summer made me respect him and appreciate his game 10X more. Kid is a baller and I'll be rooting for the Thunder!

^^^ I am actually sick of all the people who hate Kobe, but especially hate Lebron- and hate all the teams that are suppose to be good- so they go with Durant and the up and coming thunder. Just say "I hate Lebron- Durant had a good year and he is better then him" even though Lebron has a much better all around game.

Personally- I cant wait for the easy picks to be the final 4 or so teams in the playoffs. If it were up to me (not being biased here or else I would want Bulls in Eastern conf. finals) I would LOVE a Boston vs. Heat matchup-winner getting the Lakers. Lakers vs. Boston rematch would be epic and ideal, especially with the new additions to each team and a classic Kobe Shaq match up. Thus- bringing me to my predictions

Kobe and the Lakers win the third in as many years by defeating the Celtics. Surprise pick of Dirk winning MVP as I expect them to get the 2 seed and after the first three games I think LEbron will turn into more of an all around player rather then someone who can just put up mass points. Also-Kobe should win it-but wont put up the numbers. The way Kobe improves his team by pushing them and demanding a lot out of them is what makes the Lakers the Lakers which is why I think the should get it. So no Kobe, No Lebron- Surprise team of Mavs doing work and getting a 2 seed lead by Dirk=Dirk MVP

Down with Durant, Down with the Thunder

What can I say, I don't watch the NBA much and that's just my personal opinion. I was sick of hearing about the Miami Heat about two months ago. :)

Does Lebron really have a better all around game?

KD is a much much better shooter.

Without question. Lebron has much better court vision- he is head and shoulders better at passing (he may be the best passer in the game) and he is arguably the best driver in NBA history. His shooting is getting a lot better also- while its not as good as KD-it is becoming pretty good. There is a reason he is the two time raining MVP.

Durant and the Thunder play an 0-4 Clippers team tonight... they should secure the victory and move to 3-1. :p

Is Durant and OKC overrated? I just recently started thinking about this, but what has Durant really done in this league? I knwo he was the scoring leader, but it's not all about scoring. He isn't really that special of a player in other categories, and what is the best thing he did for his team? They were an 8 seed last year, not all that special.

:eek::eek:

That goes against everything I have ever thought about basketball. Banned.

He has took a 20 win team and turned it into a 50 win team in 2 years. Not everyone comes into the league with the Celtics or Lakers. Seattle had NOBODY when he got there. Are you serious? He is what 22? He will definately out due LBJ in titles without having to jump on anyones back.

I like Kobe but how many titles would he win without the Lakers? We saw what LBJ could do with the cavs who arent far off OKC. Dwade was nothing without shaq.

For the record I'm really not a big OKC fan or anything, I just like messing with Dontmisshim. All in good fun though man! :)

And btw I just saw that the Clippers beat OKC last night. lol

On your first point, he has a lot of other talent around him, but they are still young and haven't proven anything. I think they will be good in the future, but I just don't understand how everyone is calling it them v lakers in semi's.

About Kobe, I really think he is underrated. How good was Pau Gasol before he played for the Lakers? He is on the verge of a 3 peat, and I'm not so sure anyone else on his team is a hall of famer. Tell me someone else who has done that?

Yeah my post wasn't really directed at you, but still anything to make fun of Dontmisshim is okay in my book. Keep up the good work.

I think it will be interesting who gets the rookie of the year award this year. Early on it could be Wall, but I wouldn't be shocked if Griffen took over the spot by the end of the year.

OKC has much more talent then the Cavs...Also, what are you trying to prove about Kobe? I dont know anyone that carried the team by themselves to win it all. Granted-Kobe had one other top 50 player for three of his titles- he didnt have one for the other two. MJ had one every year he won the title I believe..

After watching them last night, I'm not so sure. From what I've read and seen Jeff Green's game hasn't translated quite as well to the NBA as some thought. Past Russell Westbrook and Durant, I don't see much talent on that team. Now granted, Westbrook and Durant are two VERY good players... in fact, I really enjoyed watching them last night. it was Westbrook who took that game over in OT... he is a stud.

I can see your point-especially after watching last nights game. Even if thats all he had by him, its still better then anyone James had last year. However,I think Kristic is about as good as anyone the Cavs had down low-and yes that includes the 20 mins Shaq played. Maybe if shaq played more mins I would give him the edge but a 35 min Kristic brings more to the table then a 20 min Shaq. As for Green- I agree not as good as expected, but still has some talent there. The combination of Green, Sefolosha, James Hardin (who I think is very good and has a solid NBA future ahead of him) and Daequan Cook makes the Guard position all around better then what the Cavs brought to the table.

Yeah it seems as though the Thunder have a lot of young players who have yet to realize their full potential- and with a guy like Cook, I question if he ever will.
