Just a correction on the tournament challenge announcement. I won the most previous pool, I believe dontmisshim won the first bearcattalk pool.

This can be a thread for teams you like to do well in the tourney, teams who are ranked high but you think will do poorly in the tourney, and who you like for the championship.

Honestly, I think that UK is a big favorite in this tournament. If you pick them to win it all, you must do something else in your final four in order to gain a possible advantage, because everyone will have them.

A team that is doing well right now, but I have a feeling most people won't pick them to advance far, is MSU. I really like that team, and I think that Izzo is due for a big run.

uk is an overwhelming favorite, but there are also a) a lot of people nationwide who hate caliper, b) a lot of people who want to see his "system" fail. therefore a lot of people who will refuse to pick him citing "freshmen" or whatever reason for their choice.

although many will pick them, myself included, i do not think that as many people as you think will pick them.

The problem for UK is that if they do win they will have to vacate the title in a couple of years. Will there be a redo of the contest winner when UK vacates?

I think they will be the overwhelmingly popular pick to win it all.

Who, in your opinion do you think is a team that can win it all but won't be a popular pick?

Personally I think Duke could pull it off, as well as Kansas. Not sure if Kansas will be picked by a fair amount of people or not though. Duke will not be picked by many people, but could have a shot. Not a great one, but sometimes picking a risky team like can pay off in multiple pools won by the person that picks them.

Seriously though, great one, are you going to change the announcement? I won it last year, very poor research by the research department on that one.
