I'm very much looking forward to seeing the returning 4 in Dixon, Gates, Kilpatrick and Wright.

I think as SK gets more comfortable and experienced, his potential as a scorer is ridiculous.
---Dion Dixon made a a lot of progress in terms of his scoring and aggression. He had multiple 20 and near 20 point games. If he can do that for the majority of the season; while on the floor with SK, we should have offense fire power.
---With Cashmere Wright taking the lead role and running the offense, we looked pretty good last year. Especially when he had 20 pts and 11 assists against Louisville. His leg will be in the best shape it's been since he's been playing and I suspect he will have a break out season.
---Gates ended the season doing what he needed to do. It took him near 80 games to get it and for it to stick, but I bet he'll be a solid first rounder after next year.

If Mbodj can cover for Ibrihima and Jackson continues to get better, this should be a very good team; in a division that will be relatively weaker than it has been.

Just wish the off-season wasn't so long.

Nice post. The starting 5 will be solid, regardless if it is Mbodj or JJ as the 4. The incoming recruits will determine how special this team becomes, IMO, as their athleticism and offensive firepower will be a welcome addition. How quickly they adjust to the speed of DI BB and whether they are a defensive liability will determine how much playing time each of these newcomers will get. There is also an article by Jason King from Yahoo sports about UC having interest in Tony Woods, the ex-WF center. We will see if there is any tweaking of the roster prior to next season. Can't wait for the recruits to get on campus and some reports from the summer league.

The Wildcats have yet to offer Woods a scholarship. Xavier, Cincinnati and Missouri are among the other schools who have expressed interest. Woods, who has two years of eligibility remaining, said he’s remained active by competing in men’s leagues around Louisville – and that he’s still at his playing weight of 245 pounds.

Could be a great get, provided he doesn't shove his woman down any steps. I'm conflicted on that one, don't want him going all mike Tyson on us.

Concerned that Dixon and Killa never really had a good game at the same time. Hoping they can coexist this season.

I'm curious about how well it will work. If it goes well, I can see it keeping us from those scoring droughts that we had early in the conference schedule. If that's the case, as long as we play good D again this year, It will be a very successful season. May even see a tourny run.
It would be nice to break the 2 and through curse.

I would love an experienced big man, especially one that has played in a major conference. All accounts by Gaudio and everyone else says this young man is a good student and person outside of this one incident. However, violence against women is a major issue. How would that reflect on the program that signs him? Lots of baggage would come with him.

was good enough for louisville. not going to get him if texas and uk offer though. id definitely take him- we recruited him out of high school.

I've gone back and forth on this. Part of me says the kid by all accounts has been solid, give him a chance. Part says would it be a distraction.

Why even bother taking a chance with him? It's not like he is some can't-miss prospect. He averaged 3 and 4 points a game his first two years. UC has done very well with off-court issues. I personally like that and hope to keep it that way.

Just in time for the Deveroes League. First game is June 18th. Can't wait to see these new guys on the court.

I don't think many uc players played last year and I expect it to be pretty much the same way this year. It would be fun to see the new guys, especially when there will be 5 of them. But to be honest, it wouldn't bother me a bit if they skip it. I think they are coming in on June 16th or so probably to begin work with Dave Andrews.

I am more interested in the guys playing together this summer. Want to see some of them in the summer league but am more interested in them learning, bonding, and getting better and stronger.

Most of the players played some. Cash was out with injury and Thomas was in Africa and Gaines didn't play. Everyone else I believe came out. There were some issues that happened that kept some from playing out the whole season. I hope these issues don't carry over into this year. I expect Cash won't play with his recent surgery and I hear Mbodji will be at home with family. Gates I'm hoping will be playing with a national team, hopfully we see everybody else.
