Terrible pass pass by Larry Davis basically forcing Gates into a charge.
Also interesting that they are not calling this game tight at all. A lot of slapping going on out on the perimeter and on the glass. It will be interesting to see how long this goes on before the refs change the way they call things.

Someone explain to me how Gates can get an elbow in the face and no foul be called?
This has been quite the wakeup call for the Bearcats. I really do not know if there is a way to prepare a team for Big East basketball. Whether it is the momentum, physicality, or talent, the BEast is an unparalleled monster. Nova has played so tough on defense, and has taken the bearcats out of their gameplan. Hope Gates returns the second half. The gash over his right eye looks pretty nasty. I understand Parker was playing out of necessity, but he seems to offer nothing to this team on both sides of the ball. Lets hope the bearcats come out strong and make this a game. A loss to Nova, at Nova, is not going to kill this team, especially if they can make it close.

Down 13 with plenty of time. If UC can get a bucket on this possession, they are back in it. Need to quit fouling and keep rebounding. Nova is not going to make every shot.

If this team could just hit a open 3pt shot they would of definately had a chance. They played very well during the 2nd half, but they have to start hitting there 3's and start shooting free throws just a bit better... As for the officiating, i seen more uncalled travels and uncalled fouls than ever this year. I am going to petition for some refs, that stupid retarded black guy has it out for UC. Every time Villanova went to the hoop they hooked a UC player to get them. Solid game but just FU#CK$NG sucks they lose, so now here comes the they didnt paly any body bull shit...Defense played really good...
Heres a couple thoughts on the way players played
Cash- He has to have the ball in his hands, i wish he could make a layup, but has speed to be very intriguing. Once the 3 ball starts falling for him he is going to be all Big east caliber eventually
Dixon- is it just me or do you guys hate when he handles the ball, i dont think he is a PG by no means, his rebounding is phenominal for a guard and his defense is very good also. He has to stop shooting the 3, his shot is not very structured.
Rashad- He really stepped up and he might be the best at penetrating and kicking, he tried to put the team on his back offensively and thats just not his game. i do however like the ball in his hands and think when Cash is out having him kinda play the PG spot would be ok with me.
Thomas- I have said all along once the big east comes he will not put up the numbers he has. he plays with alot of energy and needs to start playing straight up on defense. his shot is pretty good and i think he needs to be taking the longer jumpers Gates takes.
Gates- Such a load and so strong, but could we write him a letter to tell him to start establishing himself closer to the basket. Anyone thinking he will go pro, dont watch the game. He is however playing better than ever.
SK- He can really score the ball and passes very well, his 3 pt shot is way to high and he needs to shoot it with the same amount of confidence as when he takes the ball to the rack,he will be very good, but this year consitency will be his achilies hill.
Wilks- played like Wilks
LD-Terrible, he will never imitate the games he just had.
GAINES- I really think having g=Gaines this year would be a good thing, The only don fall of our defense is the shot blocking that we dont have..

I was proud of the effort from the boys. I felt like the unbalanced officiating early really took us out of our game.
i completely agree one poor call and the whole momentum can swing and thats what happened

Yeah, it was a lot more than 1 bad call. I couldn't believe the no call when the Nova guy went over Gates back and hit him with an elbow and when Dixon got mugged 30 seconds after a touch foul called on Gates on the other end.

Nova scored 31 points in the first half on turnovers and fouls. UC did everthing in the first half they couldn't do if they wanted to win. Cash was horrific in the first half.
Outside shooting killed them. I think they rushed open looks at times.
Liked how they battled in the second half. Won the half, just dig too big a hole.
They deserved to lose. They'll be a better team for it.

For what it's worth Jay Wright said he thought the Bearcats has all the pieces and will be very good. He said they are very good and will be very good.
Hopefully we will see them again in the semifinals of the BE tourney. On a neutral court I will take the Cats chances.
